Position: Assistant Manager - Sales & Planning
Location: HQ in San Francisco, Hybrid Work (3 days at the office per week)
Status: Full-time, Non-exempt
Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000/year - Depends on experience + Bouns
Job Summary
The company is looking for an Assistant Manager who is flexible and quick thinker; the ability to do long-range planning is essential due to the variety of duties that encompass this position. You works with sales managers on the branch level to keep them informed of changes and new products or ideas for sales of foodservice products. Responsible for foodservice, military products, promotions and trade shows. Manages, plans and attends trade shows, and supports branch activities. Individual works closely with Vice President as well as Deputy Chief Marketing Officer to plan a cohesive foodservice plan via weekly status meetings. Manages Foodservice Sales & Planning team.
General Accountabilities
Customer related:
- Assists the sales team on contracts with all management groups
- Work with chain restaurants and chef
- Manages vendor program
- Updates national programs
- Supports creation of advertisements/flyers/promotional items/marketing collaterals
Food shows
- Oversees food shows by working with the corporate chef and the sales team.
Data analyses
- Supports the team with analysis of external and internal data
Sales Support
- Plans and executes bimonthly sales story presentation with DCMO
- Manages and implements monthly allocation process for food service products when needed
- Monitors FS sales by accounts, by products, by channel
- Creates presentations for the executives by working with the sales team
- Helps sales managers with regional/national presentations (especially with trends, etc.)
- Provides tools (presentation, pos, etc) to the sales teams
Job Qualifications
- Education: BA degree from an accredited college or higher. A master degree in marketing a plus; or 5 – 8 years of related experience working in a similar foodservice company
- Experience: To perform this job successfully the employee must be able to be flexible enough to pick up assignments instantaneously; must be able to apply good common sense when representing the company to outside vendors or clients.

- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively to customers and coworkers.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
First 6 months of the introductory period will be on-site work every day and a hybrid telecommuting option will be added after 6 months based on our company policy.
