The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing strategic account sales, profitability and customer satisfaction in assigned territory. This position provides strategic account sales support to Strategic Account Managers, and the field operations/store teammates, working collaboratively to develop new accounts and grow existing accounts throughout assigned territory.
The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $90,000. In addition this position is eligible for additional pay such as bonus or commission.
This is a remote opportunity that will require travel. Travel may be necessary to the following states: Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Essential Functions:
- Drive strategic account sales and profitability growth within assigned territory to achieve established sales goals
- Collaborate with Regional Vice President, Zone Manager, District Manager and Store Managers to develop specific sales growth strategies to meet objectives for each territory
- Conduct sales visits alone, with District Managers and/or Store Managers as needed, to secure sales growth with new and existing strategic account partners
- Assist Strategic Account Managers with growing sales in assigned territory
- Assist corporate AR team with collection disputes
- Responsible for fully understanding the industry, Monro’s offerings, competitive developments, and effectively convey Monro’s value proposition
- Develop and successfully execute a personal sales plan to retain and grow current accounts, and obtain new strategic account business within assigned territory in support of helping Region/Zone/District/Store in exceeding their annual sales goals
- Track and document regular updates on daily work and customer activity as required by VP of Strategic Accounts
- Facilitate clear and open communications between strategic account partners and field operations on requests, concerns, safety awareness, order/service fulfillment, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
BS or BA from College/University with a minimum of 3 years business to business sales experience OR High School diploma/equivalent and a minimum of 1-year automotive sales/operations experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
- Results oriented with strong sales and customer focus
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to obtain, analyze and interpret data to present it in a meaningful and easily understood form
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to utilize CRM systems and other sales software
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- This job operates in an automotive shop environment with visits to customer businesses/sites
- The job could have exposure to moderate noise level and adverse weather conditions
- Must possess a current valid driver’s license and have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Frequent travel required including overnight
