General Purpose of Job

Provides leadership, oversight and direction to all development and fund-raising efforts and strategies in the Northern New England Division of the Salvation Army.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Create and maintain winning team spirit within the Divisional Development Department conveying enthusiasm and excitement for success and achievement.

· Supervise all development departments at Divisional Headquarters including Planned Giving, Major Gifts, Public Relations, Grant Writing, Mail Appeal, and State, Federal and local contracts.

· Work with and develop fund-raising and fiscal policies for Corps in the Northern New England Division.

· Work with Corps in the development and establishment of Advisory Boards.

· Oversee, develop, and support all divisional and Corps fund raising efforts.

· Work within the Divisional team keeping them a part of all development and fund-raising efforts reporting weekly at our Divisional Leadership Team meeting.

· Give oversight and support to Divisional Red Kettle campaign.

· Conduct Development Audits at each corps annually.

Skills/Technical Knowledge:

· B.A. required; advanced degree preferred. CFRE or ACFRE certification advantageous.

· 10+ years of demonstrated and documented successful fundraising across a range of development disciplines, with a demonstrated track record in designing and leading major fundraising efforts.

· Experience in establishing effective relationships with all levels of corporate and philanthropic leaders.

· Exceptional verbal, written and organizational skills.

· Excellent leadership qualities and ability to recruit, manage, and inspire a team of exceptional fundraising and communications professionals.

· Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in fundraising, board engagement and communications (marketing and public relations).

· Ability and commitment to learn and support the mission, policies, and practices of The Salvation Army.

· Valid Driver’s license required. Travel within and outside of the division, as necessary.

· Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with donor management software and email applications.

The salary is commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
