As a Sales Representative Associate in the Energy Rotational Program, you will work within the CHS Energy division. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, analytical skills, problem solving skills, a strong desire to succeed, and the ability to build strong relationships. Upon successful completion of the program, the Sales Representative Associate - Energy Rotational Program will be placed in a full-time (FTE) position that complements both the needs of the company and the employee strengths.

Possible positions could include: Sales Representative, Account Manager, and District Manager

The 24-month Energy Sales Rotational Program provides an opportunity for you to grow professionally. You will gain knowledge and experience through on-the-job training in 2, one-year rotations covering the Lubricants, Refined Fuels and Propane business units.

Responsibilities

Account Management – Refined Fuels & Propane (1 year) – Based at IGH corporate office

  • Monitor and maintain distribution of products and/or services.
  • Prepare and present sales presentations and proposals.
  • Participate in special projects such as major promotions, new product launches, and new marketing initiatives.
  • Perform customer service and account maintenance duties for customers/markets.
  • Responsible for sales and growth of CHS energy products.
  • Partner with customers to solve product and service needs.
  • Help market and sell value added programs and services.
  • Partner with senior team members to gain supply, marketing, regulatory, customer assistance and product knowledge.
  • Proactively prospect & develop leads for customers to grow.
  • Coordinate the development and distribution of energy related market information (technical and fundamental) to branded refined fuel customers.
  • Partner with other sales team members and supervisors to achieve sales goals by participating in conventions, trade shows, customer update meetings and more.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Field Sales- Refined Fuels (6 months) & Lubricants (6 months) – Field based role (Twin Cities metro)

  • Focused on sales and growth of Cenex energy branded products through multiple channels.
  • Proactively prospect & develop leads for cooperative & direct brand customers in order to grow the CHS Energy footprint.
  • Partner with customers with the development and execution of their sales plans to profitably grow the business for customers and CHS.
  • Support the management of the Cenex retail & bulk brands in designated trade territory.
  • Analyze targeted market share growth opportunities for potential cross-sell/upsell opportunities.
  • Identify and anticipate customer requirements, expectations, and needs.
  • Build strong teamwork and relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage resources effectively, clearly defining priorities and expectations.
  • Prepare and present sales presentations, proposals, and training.
  • Maintain and promote a strong culture of safety.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of Sales and/or Business Development and Account Management

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Agriculture experience or understanding of Agriculture industry
  • Previous internship relating to sales or other Agriculture related internship
  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to travel up to 30% in Account Management rotation and up to 80% in Field Sales rotation

Compensation: This includes base wage and may consist of other earnings depending upon position within CHS, consisting of bonuses, incentives, commissions, merit pay. This position may be an opportunity for promotion.
