Remote Work Flexibility
This position offers remote work flexibility in Maine, allowing for both time in the office and the ability to work from the comfort of your home. Fully remote opportunities available in applicable states (FL, GA, IA, IN, NJ, NC, SC).
Position Overview
As a member of the Implementations team, this position is responsible for the following as assigned or when necessary:
- Complete and review the applicable sections of the implementation process, provide training (as necessary), and near-term support for the permanent teams in operations.
- Coordinate the conversation and onboarding of client data and ensure that data is appropriately loaded into proprietary systems for respective hand offs to operations.
- Record fund activity, calculate the NAV, and allocate profit and loss.
- Record investor information and transactions.
- Generate and deliver fund and investor reports to fund managers and investors of assigned clients.
- Respond to all client service requests and collaborate and communicate with colleagues cross functionally in order to provide best possible service and apply judgement as to when escalation is required.
- Review the work prepared by group members for completeness and accuracy measuring against industry standards and internal procedures.
- Mentor, train, and support team members, being a resource to operations, and promote an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
- Establish service level standards and expectations with the client as outlined in the MSA and Stone Coast procedures.
- Utilize periods of down time to actively participate in company-wide projects.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- The ideal candidate will have three or more years of experience in Fund Accounting or Investor Services for hedge funds and will be comfortable and proficient acting as a primary liaison with fund managers, investors, and other fund service providers.
- Familiarity with complex instruments, allocation methodologies and/or impose complex fee structures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office is essential, advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables, and filtering) are a must. Advent Geneva and World Investor knowledge is a plus.
- Experience working in an environment with internal control procedures, operating procedures, workflows, control checklists, and other elements of an internal control system is a plus.
- Experience with financial reporting, information security and client, vendor, and risk management systems is a plus.
- Communication with internal and external entities is extensive in this position. Responsiveness and superior verbal and written communications are essential.
- Experience reviewing and understanding legal documents, entity formation documents (such as foundation charters, trust documents, LLC agreements), fund offering documents, subscription agreements, client and company policies, and regulatory guidance a plus.
- Communicates complex concepts comfortably, respectfully, and proficiently in both verbal and in written form.
- Must be able to learn complicated concepts quickly.
- Successful experience working in a team and enjoys establishing and nurturing positive relationships with coworkers, clients, and business partners.
- Possesses a strong work ethic and is detail-oriented, organized, and conscientious.
- Desires and can learn quickly, adapts to change and growth, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Education Requirements
- Four-year college degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or Economics.
