This role is responsible for the Northeast Region.

Highlighted states are central to the region and are ideal Candidate locations.

The Region includes Accounts in: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia and Virginia.

Position Summary:

The National Sales Manager, under the direction of the General Manager, is responsible for assisting with the development of, and implementing sales and marketing strategies through management of the Regional Sales Management team for Encon Safety Products. This Manager will maintain the annual budgeted targets for this group.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Meets and exceeds all Management by Objective goals established in cooperation with the General Manager.
  • Works with the Marketing Manager and Business Unit Management to ensure that revenue and gross margin targets of the Regional Sales Managers are met and exceeded.
  • Works with Marketing to aide development of distributor policies and targets.
  • Develop annual revenue and expense budgets for the Regional Sales team for approval by General Manager and ensure those budget guidelines are adhered to.
  • Approves, monitors and controls sales expenses to ensure adherence to budget.
  • Hires and manages Regional Sales Managers throughout US and Canada.
  • Assists and directs Regional Sales Managers in development of the sales plans and distribution strategies, establishing sales plans and guidelines that, when approved, will lead the organization in a direction that will allow it to exceed its sales goals.
  • Conveys, teaches and reinforces the positive culture of the organization to the sales staff.
  • Fosters a team environment within the sales organization.
  • Evaluates new distribution and Manufacturers Representatives proposed by Regional Sales Managers and others to determine appropriate distribution and reseller partnerships for Encon.
  • Cultivates and negotiates strategic alliances and partnerships with distributors, reps and end users.
  • Complete and presents sales staff personnel evaluations annually.
  • Creates and proposes Regional Sales Manager compensation plans as needed.

Sales Responsibilities:

Manages selected house accounts and specific distribution customers as assigned by the General Manager.

  • Works with key national partners at the corporate level to establish focused plans to market Encon products to the fullest ability.
  • Works jointly with Regional sales staff, distributors, manufacturers representatives and end users to strengthen relationships with all customers.
  • Attends national tradeshows and works booth, occasionally required to plan and organize these, as well.
  • Identifies and closes OEM opportunities.

The above responsibilities are general in nature and the requirements of the position are not limited to these responsibilities. Additional or alternative responsibilities may be added as deemed necessary by the General Manager of Encon Safety Products, Inc.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field or have equivalent experience in the industry.
  • Preferred candidate should have five years of experience in managing technical industrial products programs in the manufacturing sector with experience in at least one of Encon Safety Product's major product distribution channels.

Requirements:

  • Be able to travel domestically and internationally to make customer visitations, attend trade shows and industry meetings as designated by the General Manager.
  • Must demonstrate good time management skills.
  • Must possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills.
  • Must have the ability to set goals and meet deadlines.
  • Have a proven history with technical products including mechanical and electrical features.
  • Will possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Must demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and ability to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Must possess a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution.
  • Must have the ability to establish strong working relationships with end-user customers, contractors, distributors, co-workers, and management.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to mentor new staff and to work with existing staff to cross-train across various accounting functions.
  • Will have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
