POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Chamber seeks a rising fundraising and business development professional to join our team and support the growth and expansion of our membership base. Working directly with CEOs, C-Suite executives, and government affairs leaders of some of the most significant global brands, the Manager will work in collaboration with senior leaders to support the complete sales cycle, including: identifying new prospects; establishing connections at prospective companies and setting meetings; developing the membership sales pitch; and tracking and drafting follow-up. The ideal candidate thrives in a sales-focused culture and enjoys building deep relationships to unlock creative revenue opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the teams prospecting efforts, identifying potential prospective members, driving outreach, setting meetings, and guiding follow-up.
  • Directly lead the sales cycle start-to-finish for a select number of prospective accounts, pitching directly to C-Suite and government affairs leaders.
  • Develop sales collateral and new product offerings to increase the Chambers membership value-proposition.
  • Work creatively and collaboratively with policy expert colleagues and research leaders to identify new prospective company targets and to re-engage existing leads with new policy opportunities.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the issues in Washington, around the globe, and in the markets that impact the business community; leverage this knowledge to identify emerging companies and sectors that could be strong membership prospects.
  • Meet or exceed annual revenue goals, both at the individual and team level.
  • Stay engaged and up-to-date with Chamber policy priorities and advocacy efforts.
  • Be a collaborative partner with the Chambers member relations team to ensure new members are on-boarded smoothly and impactfully, as well as assist in annual renewals when needed.
  • Work closely with finance and operations colleagues on revenue forecasting, invoicing, and engagement tracking, using the Salesforce platform and other tools.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors degree and 3+ years experience in a fundraising/sales or business development role.
  • Past work experience in political fundraising, membership organization, government affairs, communications agency, or media company, preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in business development or fundraising, with a track record of hitting goals.
  • Superior relationship management experience and sales skills; strongest client service ethic.
  • Strongest presentation and persuasion skills; confidence when conversing with of C-Suite leaders from large corporations in a business development capacity.
  • Organizational and business savvy.
  • Deep intellectual curiosity and a passion for policy, with an ability to unpack complex topics to turn them into digestible, compelling sales opportunities.
  • Ability to effectively articulate the Chamber value proposition to our members, with an interest in politics and policy and a deep appreciation for the contribution that the Chamber makes to the business community at large.
  • Highly collaborative and a self-starter.
  • Data-driven approach to utilizing a CRM, such as Salesforce, to track progress, identify trends, and drive results.
