Inside Parts Sales Representative

Job Summary

We are currently seeking an Inside Parts Sales Representative to join the Whiteford team! As an Inside Parts Sales Representative, you must be able to understand the customer's needs and consistently provide solutions that meet or exceed those needs. This individual must demonstrate solid sales aptitude and able to adapt to all environmental factors including multi tasking phones, computer, and counter sales. This role must focus on immediate tasks that provide great service that creates customer loyalty. An ideal candidate must be highly personable, customer-oriented, and an independent thinker who solves problems in an ethical, intelligent, and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Assists customers in selecting required truck parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner
• Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line
• Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information
• Provides high level of service to customers
• Pulls and fills orders from stock
• Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary
• Follows up on back-ordered parts
• Assists outside sales representatives with their orders
• Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization
• Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer
• Ensures that all customers receive their copy of the invoice
• Issues credit for parts returned
• Keeps orderly records of all sales, credit, and refund invoices
• Keeps front counter areas clean and organized
• Participates in training programs that are made available
• Keeps current on new and existing product knowledge
• Maintains professional appearance
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of sales techniques and methodologies
• Solid equipment and parts knowledge
• Sales training in related fields
• Product knowledge that includes specific features and benefits
• Excellent grasp of mathematics for pricing principles and discounting effects
• Above-average communicator & able to focus on high level customer-relations
• Strong computer and systems knowledge
• Valid drivers license and meets insurability requirements
