The Regional Sales Manager is a leadership position responsible for all sales related activity in assigned territories. Travel to and support of sales staff and end use customers in the assigned territories. Persons in this position also have the primary responsibility of obtaining orders for Thermotron products and services with a defined sales territory by calling on current and potential customers within an assigned territory.
PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Serves as a resource and sounding board person for field sales representatives in developing strategies and tactics with specific customer accounts to close orders and enhance customer satisfaction.
· Personally calls on potential and existing customers via telephone, mail or in person to determine if a need for Thermotron products and services exists.
· Responsible for identifying and pursuing new product and market opportunities within a defined territory.
· Responsible for identifying and documenting new customers and opportunities using a variety of data, prospecting skills and account networking techniques within defined territory.
· Monitors and reports on competitive activity in assigned territories. Analyzes jobs won, lost, and abandoned ratios. Assists in developing strategies to improve performance. Implements those strategies with field sales personnel.
· With direction and assistance from the home office, the Regional Sales Manager recruits, interviews, and hires new and replacement sales personnel.
· Is actively involved in training and coaching of sales personnel. Assists in developing and modifying training programs to fit individual needs. May occasionally assist in training of personnel from other territories or regions.
· Personally manages customer accounts to identify purchasing influencers, develop positive long term relationships, favorably influence purchase decisions, and close orders in defined territory.
· Negotiates contract terms and conditions confidently with the best interest of the Company in mind.
· Assists in marketing studies and surveys as required.
· Directs staff activities and leads internal staff within the limits of corporate and departmental policies for all business activity in assigned region.
· Provides leadership, on-going support, and monitors sales team activities to make sure teams are increasing their productivity, obtaining necessary product knowledge and skills training needed to be successful, and sustains an ongoing effort to identify and sell to new customers.
· Establishes sales goals and territory action plans with each sales person and properly communicates the activity levels required by individuals and teams to be successful. Monitors performance for results compared to established goals.
· Reviews the performance of each staff person in accordance with company guidelines and properly communicates each person’s level of performance and justification for merit wage adjustments.
· Submits weekly activity reports detailing activities in assigned territories.
· Reviews and approves all expenses for assigned personnel. Monitors expenses as compared to plan. Initiates corrective action as required. Coordinates shared expense reimbursement items.

Pay: $108,833.00 - $117,480.00 per year
