Job Description

What is the opportunity

RSG banker responsible for supporting senior RSG bankers in the origination of interest rate derivatives. Analyst will play a critical role in execution of transactions and assisting in the sales coverage of US Corporate clients; will be part of a growing team responsible for providing interest rate, FX and commodity solutions for RBC’s North American corporate and sponsor client base

What will you do?

  • Support senior RSG bankers in developing and presenting hedging solutions for US Corporate client base, taking lead in drafting market updates and developing client presentations

  • Price, structure and execute client trades for our clients, directly interacting with clients and traders

  • Provide market analysis and proactively generate full spectrum of market updates, from writing daily talking points to developing trade ideas

  • Interact with Trading Desks, Investment Banking, Origination, and Risk functions to deliver seamless execution of derivative transactions for our client base

  • Proactively identify operation risks/control deficiencies in the business and escalate operational risk loss events and associated risks to line manager and relevant risk, control and Compliance functions promptly

  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to RSG business activities

What do you need to succeed?

Job Specifications and qualifications: (Basic Qualifications)

  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Solid experience with excel-based modeling and presentation preparation
  • Ability to interact effectively in a team-oriented environment and establish strong internal and external relationships
  • Hard working and strongly motivated to help drive growth and deliver successful outcomes for our clients
  • Ability to prioritize and manage large workload in high pressure environment and to demonstrate flexibility to respond to ad hoc, time sensitive requests efficiently and effectively

Required:

  • College graduate with history of strong academic performance

  • Solid understanding of macroeconomics and markets; understanding of derivatives products a plus

  • Familiarity with corporate financial reporting and accounting (e.g. 10K and associated SEC filings)

  • Series 7, 63, SIE and NFA Swaps Proficiency (will be required within a reasonable time after joining if not currently held)

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $100,000 - $110,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
