Full description of the position

Job Summary

While focusing primarily on the automotive interior market, coordinates with OEM and Tier customers on issues by telephone, mail, or in person by performing the following duties.

Job Responsibilities

  • To represent Haartz in a professional manner and provide "direct" customer support and feedback through the communication of open issues/concerns including scheduled customer visits and some overnight travel.
  • Analyze assigned accounts in the automotive market concerning competitive environment, opportunities, product needs, market potential, and make recommendations of same to V.P Sales - Interiors and other appropriate individuals.
  • Create and execute successful business strategies to profitably grow revenues within assigned OEM and Tier accounts.
  • Provide program and customer updates in monthly business planning meetings with Sales & Marketing Department.
  • Compile contact lists and contact "assigned" and prospective OEM Automotive and Tier customers to determine current and future program opportunities and requirements.
  • Coordinate all responses to the OEM and Tier customers concerning R&D, material trials, engineering support, quotation response and quality issues.
  • Coordinate the PSW Submissions as well as the qualification of new materials, colors, grains to the appropriate customer or OEM personnel.
  • Provide on-site technical support to customers in conjunction with other Haartz personnel.
  • Coordinate customer visits, audits, sales presentations, and meetings with appropriate Haartz personnel and/or departments.
  • Solicit quotation requests and coordinate the timely response to same with appropriate Haartz Department and personnel.
  • Support the Haartz liaison regarding disputes with customer service, performance and quality issues.
  • Support the recovery of customer agreed purchase order payments and other related customer financial obligations (obsolescence, sample orders, & tooling).
  • Works effectively in a team-oriented environment where trust, communication and teamwork are encouraged.
  • Work safely and follow all safety and environmental guidelines as specified by Haartz.
  • Work in accordance to all Quality Systems principles and standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the automotive industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures to assist in the coordination of information between Haartz and their customers including (quotation analysis, volume analysis, etc.).
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • The employee is often required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, samples, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
  • Required vision abilities include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely works near moving mechanical parts in customer facilities, with safety glasses and hearing protection.
  • Employees are also required to travel via air and ground including some overnight travel.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
