The primary function of the Inside Sales & Account Support Specialist is to assist HDI’s customers and sales representatives in exceeding their needs and expectations in a fashion consistent with our company mission statement.

Primary Daily Duties:
- Provide best in class customer service to both external and internal customers – building ongoing professional relationships.
- Answer incoming customer and vendor calls.
- Receive request for quotations, orders, order changes/adjustments, order cancellations, and updates/lead times from all customers.
- Procure nonstock items to meet customer request/needs.
- Work with vendor reps for price breaks or additional discounts, and/or better lead times.
- Handle purchase orders, customer orders, or billing/AR discrepancy in a timely manner.
- Create accurate and concise paperwork – quotes and orders.
- Manage purchase orders from generating a purchase order to vendor confirmation to invoicing customer. Following Inside Sales procedures.
- Effectively communicate with all customers with pertinent order information – estimated lead times, status of items with suggested substitute, manufacture delays, etc.
- Utilize Tracker to note pertinent order information.
- Complete Return Material requests; i.e tool repairs, defective merchandise, etc.
- Write customer credits
- Support sales representatives.
- Act as a backup or primary, when necessary, for government divison – sourcing, quoting, and ordering.
- Work with other departments to achieve company’s objectives.
- Other job functions, as needed.
Territory Duties:
- Meet or exceed budgeted sales and gross margin monthly and YTD goals.
- Prepare sales plans for key accounts and targeted prospects.
- Attend weekly divisional meetings
- Prospect new customers and new business opportunities.
- Exceed customer expectations and create multiples contacts within your accounts.
- Plan effective sales calls and maintain a regular call schedule. Record in Salesforce.
- Understand and effectively communicate Horizon Distribution’s service abilities and product offering
- Maintain consistent and clear communication with Inside Sales and Divisional Managers.
- Find new opportunities for process improvements and make clear suggestions.
- Penetrate existing accounts by constantly looking for new opportunities and solutions.
- Strive to be a value-added sales person by always finding ways to save the customer both time and money. Document cost savings and report to customer and Division Manager.
- Assist in contract maintenance.
- Display consistent “can-do” positive attitude. Strive to constantly improve!
Supervision Received:
- This position is overseen by our Inside Sales Manager.
- Budget will be reviewed by Divisional Manager.
- Work is performed under defined and uniform procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining positive rapport for all external and internal customers; includes but not limited to, customers, vendors, sales representatives, and HDI company personnel.
The ideal candidate will be highly-motivated, a self-starter, and a TEAM PLAYER. Also, express the willingness to learn and grow with the company in future years.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree is a plus
- Proficient computer skills; including, email, Word, Excel, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication – including emails
- Ability to handle stress, self-starter and more importantly a TEAM PLAYER
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-pace working environment.
- Excellent history of on time, consistent work experience.
- Ability to convert prospects into profitable accounts, based on Horizon Distribution’s requirements/needs.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
