We have an immediate opening for a Regional Sales Manager supporting the "Rust Belt" region of the U.S. This position will have a focus on the Mining Industry and AMD treatment, but will also cover other industrial and municipal customers. This position is responsible for establishing key customer relationships, supporting Sales Agents in qualifying and prioritizing leads and inquiries, and growing the organization's sales activities within the territory by capturing profitable bookings.
Essential Job Functions
- Review, qualify, and prioritize each inquiry/lead submitted by an agent, customer, or other lead source.
- Respond daily to email inquiries, phone inquiries, web inquiries, and agent inquiries.
- Work with outside sales agent (and inside sales teams) to determine an appropriate bidding strategy to secure orders at best possible margins for WesTech.
- Review bids/proposals prior to submission to agent or customer to check for quality and to ensure that our offering meets both customer needs and internal sales strategy.
- Assist with the negotiation of contract terms and conditions on bids and purchase orders.
- Hand-off received orders through the order-entry process to ensure the successful execution of projects.
- Update and maintain an active territory forecast and an overall sales pipeline of potential bookings.
- Develop annual territory goals and bookings targets.
- Execute a winning strategy for the territory along with a plan that includes key customers, owners, consultants, and EPCs/contractors, as well as competing sales agencies in the territory.
- Daily interaction with CRM software to ensure the management of both customer relationships (account information, key contact information, interactions, sales calls, etc.) and opportunity development (leads, quotes, forecasted products, etc.)
- Visit customers, agents, and other territory partners to develop key relationships, generate leads, close deals, support projects, and promote overall sales success within the territory.
- Represent company at industry association meetings and trade shows to promote products and services.
- Prepare and give sales presentations.
- Prepare periodic sales reports as requested by the National Sales Manager (NSM) or Vice President (VP) of Product Sales.
- Participate in WesTech’s annual Agent Training.
- Monitor sales agency performance within territory and recommend changes in representation as needed.
- Work with NSM and VP of Product Sales to approve commission statements and resolve commission issues within territory.
- Work with other RSM's to ensure proper agent coverage on projects across territories.
- Work with Account Managers (AM's) to ensure coordination of sales efforts on Aftermarket opportunities.
- Work with internal and external resources to develop an action plan to grow sales in assigned territory.
- Assist in developing market-focused advertisements, brochures, and product literature in conjunction with the marketing department as needed.
- Other duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or higher in a related field.
- Five or more years of related sales, marketing, or related experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Proven track record of success in growing a sales territory.
- Excellent organizational and sales skills.
- Ability to complete domestic and/or international travel, up to 50+% of the time.
- Confident personality, with the ability to work with a team and rally support.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Being self motivated and completing tasks with minimal direction.
- Ability to learn water and wastewater processes and products for a variety of industrial and municipal applications.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or higher in an Engineering or related field.
- Regional Sales Manager experience in a related field.
- Experience in the Mining industry, particularly the Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) market, and established relationships with key customer/consultants/regulators in these markets.
- Current residence in the Rust Belt region of the U.S. (Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky) or willingness to relocate there in the future should it be deemed critical to territory success.
- Proficient computer skills in CRM, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Windows, Project and Visio.

- When at job sites, stooping, crawling, reaching, handling files, documents, boxes, etc. may be required
- Regularly required to move around the facility
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
