What started in 1952 as a single store in Cedarville by John Barkau, has grown into four automotive dealer locations in Jo Davies and Stephenson Counties; JH Barkau in Cedarville, JH Barkau & Sons in Freeport, Barkau Automotive in Stockton, Cedarville Service Center, Barkau Collison Center in Freeport and most recently Barkau Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in Freeport. We are a full service, new and used car dealer. We pride ourselves on exceeding our customer’s expectations with an extensive inventory and highly trained staff. Our goal is to offer our customers the highest quality vehicles at unmatched customer service, this marks our fourth consecutive year to earn the FCA Customer First Award for Excellence.
Job responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome customers in the dealership as well as prospecting the local community and events and social gatherings.
- Maintain professional attire/appearance.
- Responding to inquiries, leads generated from our websites and following up with customers promptly.
- Build relationships with the client, help make vehicle buying experience as stress-free as possible by guiding them through a simplified process.
- Demonstrate, explain and understand the capabilities, characteristics and features on different makes and models of vehicles.
- Close sales by overcoming objections, asking the clients business, negotiating price, explaining provisions, warranties and services.
- Deliver the vehicle by having the ability to clearly articulate to the client so they have a complete understanding of their vehicles capabilities, technology and features.
- Enhance the dealerships reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishments, explore new opportunities to add value to the position and make every customer interaction a positive one.
Requirements:
- No automotive sales experience necessary.
- Computer skills; send and receive emails, operate the internet, text messaging, social media and own a smart phones for required applications.
- Ability to read, write and effectively communicate with customers, peers and management.
- Quickly absorb and retain product knowledge.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
