Director of Development, Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute

Medical and Health Sciences Foundation - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - ([please apply online]0)
Plans, implements, and manages fundraising programs for assigned area of responsibility; develops proposals and coordinates fundraising efforts within the department; and identifies, cultivates, stewards, and solicits current and potential donors. Collaborates with executive leadership, leadership, and faculty on strategic initiatives and campaign management. Crafts major donor recognition collateral and recruits and leads volunteer solicitors.
The University of Pittsburgh’s Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) cultivates relationships with contributors, alumni, and other constituents on behalf of the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC, generating support for teaching, research, and care. See PAE's site for more details: pae.pitt.edu The Director of Development will have day-to-day responsibility for the development, fundraising, and fundraising event activities for STI. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, Academic and Clinical Medicine, the Director of Development will be the lead fundraiser for STI, focusing on major gifts of $100,000 and above, cultivating and soliciting new contributors, stewarding current contributors, and working with the annual campaigns team on STI-related fundraising. The Director of Development will also work collaboratively with the Department of Corporate and Foundation Relations on fundraising opportunities that require both Health Sciences and CFR involvement. The incumbent will focus on major gifts of $100,000 and above, primarily from grateful patients and families, friends, and organizations.
