The Catering Industry is making a strong comeback after years of uncertainty. As a result, we are booking more events than ever which allows us this great opportunity to add to our team of Sales Managers.

JZ Restaurants operates Havana Restaurant in Walnut Creek and Havana Catering in Martinez. Our Corporate Office is located in Martinez above our Commercial Catering Kitchen. We are a hospitality group specializing in California Cuban-Cuisine, Mojitos & Entertaining. Our growing team includes over 80 employees who share our passion for food, spirits, service and relationships. We characterize our company culture as the best of both worlds between mom/pop & corporate mentality. We came up through the restaurant industry working in both environments which has led us to have a deep appreciation for creating our own blended work culture. JZ Restaurants has been in business for over 20 years to date with a long, successful future still ahead of us. Our catering business has been in operation for over 14 years. We provide corporate and social catering in addition to full service event production throughout the greater Bay Area. Our Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for an experienced Catering Sales Manager to handle all aspects of our daily business including booking, managing and executing our corporate & social catering orders.

To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of 1 year work experience booking and executing "off premise" catered events as well as solid organizational habits, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multi-task and strong written and oral skills. Ultimately, you will ensure that we run an efficient catering operation while upholding high customer service standards.

Responsibilities

• Field all catering inquiries and follow up in a timely manor
• Provide clients with detailed information regarding our services, upsell products and services
• Maintain updated client history, collect deposits and payment info and follow up on client's feedback post event
• Update and distribute BEO's to all departments.
• Work with Chef on special menu requests and off site event orchestration
• Meet or exceed catering sales goals on a monthly and yearly basis to reach bonus potential
• Conduct site inspections with clients when needed
• Attend client/association/company events as required
• Provide our clients with a level of service that exceeds expectations
• Creatively brainstorm ways to better the client experience through food, drink, service and decor
• Assist with hiring and training new admins, delivery drivers and catering serving staff while coaching and maintaining our existing staff (we have an amazing group of long term team members).

Skills

• Previous work experience as a Catering Manager
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service
• Customer service attitude
• Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under stressful circumstances
• Flexibility to work some nights and weekends when business demands
