Job Summary:
The Business Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting all tasks and projects related to fundraising appeals, graphic design, event planning and marketing, public outreach for prospective sponsors and donors, volunteers, and upkeep of essential documents on the Gatesway file server. Responsibilities also include designing and development of marketing and promotional materials, as well as supporting all tasks and projects related to the Business Development Department at Gatesway. Will assist the Executive Team with strategic planning for the organization, including populating and maintaining information into the database and server, as well as creating and editing documents as needed per supervisor instruction.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
· Keep Chief Development Officer updated on status of projects. Any problems or concerns should be brought to the supervisor’s immediate attention.
· Work on special projects as requested by the Chief Development Officer.
· Work closely with all departments to learn their needs, including in-kind donations and volunteers for various activities.
· Work closely with other departments within Gatesway to engage them in fund development events and activities. Ensure successful execution of events per pre-determined plans and budget restrictions.
· Assist in creation and development of marketing materials and special event materials.
· Assist in finding opportunities to promote Gatesway to the public.
· Review news articles and publications weekly for essential information to be shared internally and/or externally.
· Oversee and grow volunteer pool. Routinely recruit new volunteers for various projects and organizational needs.
· Seek prospective donors and sponsors to partner with for various campaigns and organization-wide needs.
- Coordinate and manage the organization's online presence and social media campaigns for development purposes under the direction of the CDO’s strategic plan and approval.
- Plan and facilitate meetings and other events, including managing guest lists, registration, and other event logistics.
- Prepare and deliver donor reports, presentations, and other materials as required.
- Manage donor data, gifts and pledges, and other records in an accurate, timely, and secure manner.
- Ensure donor acknowledgements and other correspondence are sent in a timely manner.
- Capturing content via photography and videography.
- Manage organizations website and search engine optimization.
· Attend events to provide information to the broader community
· Assisting all Development activities to ensure the effectiveness of the development department’s strategic plan.
· Other duties as assigned by Chief Development Officer.
Qualifications:
· Basic knowledge of graphic design
· Ability to communicate through writing as well as orally with diverse groups of individuals and in a creative manner
· Experience in Microsoft Office products, database management software, and other essential computer programs
· Experience in creation and coordination of special events preferred
· Experience in fundraising and project management preferred
· Ability to manage multiple projects at once and manage both departmental calendars and calendars for each member of the Leadership Team
· Ability to represent Gatesway in the community in a positive and professional manner
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Business development: 1 year (Preferred)
