The Group & Team Sales Manager will be a “player/coach” that will provide direct oversight and direction to team of Group Sales Advisors to help drive revenue opportunities. While also managing their own direct business opportunities. Responsible for creating and driving individual targets focused on exceeding overall yearly target and creating/understanding KPI’s to drive target.
Position Responsibilities
- Direct oversight of the Group and Team Training Sales Advisor and Coordinator Team.
- Ensure team is effectively and efficiently utilizing CRM system to help drive and determine KPIs and other determining factors of the Group and Team Training Business.
- Oversee internal communication between Group & Team Sales team, Outreach Director, Accounting, Sport Directors and customers by streamlining processes and working collectively to reach sales goals.
- Manage own book of business as part of overall sales targets, including but not limited to National Governing Bodies.
- Verify and track team, group, corporate/educational contracts from distribution through fulfillment
- Responsible for the communication of financial status in collaboration with the Director of Group Sales to the customer, from booking date through reservation
- Maintain a wholistic view on team and group business pipeline, while working with each SA to build out their own respective pipeline for a minimum of 24 months out.
- Maintain, develop and implement procedures to increase efficiency throughout the group & team training sales and reconciliation processes.
- Expertise in Sales Software (Microsoft CRM); ability to use software to its maximum capability including but not limited to producing reports, data entry, data integrity and data qualification
- Working with organizations to relocate certification programs and continuing education classes to IMG Academy
- Generate awareness through direct phone sales, direct sales calls, tradeshows, networking groups, etc.
- Negotiate contract specifics to achieve maximum profitability while attaining customer needs.
- Demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge in all areas team and program outreach and execution
- Demonstrate and deliver positive communication and knowledge of IMG Academy and its programs
- Create efficiencies and best practices for outreach processes and procedures pertaining to team, group and camp sales
- Maintain group & team business reporting (maintain and track group & team revenue, pipelines, contract status, deposit collection etc.)
- Provide expertise and back up to the sport outreach team, offering a seamless transition to the outreach process whenever possible
- Ensure all group, team, corporate/educational business logistical details are prepared and finalized prior to customer’s arrival
- Work directly with the Event Operations team to ensure that all groups and team business have been handed off properly and both.
- Assist in the operational delivery of hosting groups and teams on campus
- Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, Business, Marketing or related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience with sales support or customer service
- Experience in managing a team of individuals to collectively achieve individual goals and ultimately a larger team goal.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience with cold calling, following up on leads and generating pipelines
- Strong decision making, negotiation and problem solving skills
- Proficiency with MS Office and database creation/management
- Experience with budgets and expense oversight
- Familiar with legal documents
- Ability to multi task in a fast-paced organization
- Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Master’s degree in sports management, business or marketing
- Experience in dealing with international clientele
- Experience in hotel and hotel negotiation tactics
- Experience in operating and managing events
- Bilingual
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
