DIRECTOR, SALES
What You'll Do
The Director of Sales will report directly to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing. The qualified candidate will represent the values of the company in all client-facing and internal situations. The Director is responsible for all sales and marketing activities related to a large and diverse portfolio of clients. Through various avenues including in-person meetings, tradeshow and conference attendance, telephone and email, the Director will work with the sales team to sell and recommend the full suite of products from the Pollard Charitable Games Group in order to maximize revenues for both the customer and Pollard.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Work with Vice President of Sales & Marketing to set the strategic direction for sales/marketing activities to achieve sales growth, grow customer base and reach forecasted sales budget.
- Establish clear strategy for each primary client to grow their sales and work with clients to implement that strategy.
- Provide leadership, development and motivation to a group of professional staff and build relationships with management and staff in all areas and at all levels.
- Responsible for all aspects of client relationships including all proposal responses, client meetings, contract negotiations, significant conflict resolutions, both internal and external on behalf of our partners and Pollard Charitable Games Group.
- Maintain full understanding of Pollard products and best practices across a full range of products (Pull Tabs, electronic pull tabs, Bingo, Machines, etc.) and how they apply to each client in the portfolio; develop and execute clear strategy tailored to each client; keep abreast of the changing landscape in each jurisdiction and adjusts sales strategies as needed ensuring that all team members and clients are kept aware.
- Nurture relationships with internal staff and interdepartmental stakeholders.
- Determine frequency of onsite client visits and other forms of communication required to build and maintain strong relationships, identify changing needs and opportunities; prepare strategy for client visits (e.g. new products, recommendations and optimizations).
- Ensure each member of the team understands what their role is in the strategy for each client and ensure follow-through; monitor workloads and determine client mix for staff members; respond to questions from and provide direction to staff, solving problems that are escalated; oversee staff development and management by coaching; mentoring direct reports who aspire to grow within company.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or related field required. Advanced degree such as MBA preferred. Relevant professional-level work experience (in sales and/or management) may be substituted for required education.
- Strong management skills including demonstrated experience managing and motivating professional staff. 5+ years of sales management experience is desired. Business to Business experience preferred over Business to Consumer.
- Experience working with wide range of customers from large multi-million dollar accounts to small "mom and pop" accounts.
- Strong relationship building and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated professional verbal and written English skills.
- Highly developed presentation and public speaking skills (developing and delivering).
- Demonstrated financial acumen (budgets, RFPS, pricing etc.) and strong contract negotiation and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Desire to improve clients' sales and solve problems (to push until an issue is resolved to the satisfaction of all parties involved); capacity to see the big picture and not get bogged down with the details.
- Highly organized, self-motivated leader with ability to build relationships with management and staff in all areas and at all levels.
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts.
- Ability to work well in a diverse environment.
- External candidates must be a US Citizen/Permanent Resident.
