The Altar’d State Finance team seeks a Financial Analyst to join its growing department. This person will work closely with Department Leaders across the business to budget and forecast sales, margin, and expenses as well as work with the leaders to deliver on established KPI’s. You will also provide ad hoc decision-making support for strategic initiatives and special projects. The Financial Analyst will be an integral voice in discussions that lead to our brand’s unparalleled guest experience. Your analysis and recommendations will be directly applied to critical business decisions around company investments.
We are looking for a curious, motivated candidate who can operate successfully in fast-paced, result-oriented environments, and can influence the decisions of business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of accurate analyses. You will be responsible for moderately complex financial analysis by collecting, monitoring, and studying data across multiple departments to recommend actions. Understanding and furthering insights around how product data, customer data, marketing tactic performance data, and total business performance align over time is essential.
Key activities include but are not limited to:
  • Analyze and summarize monthly financials and key performance indicators for use by internal leadership teams.
  • Building reports and dashboards, forecasting future performance, and reconciling historical results.
  • Translate data into actionable insights used as guidance toward developing business strategies.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely analysis and posting of sales from our stores, and investigating and correcting any errors within sales
  • Identify and communicate sales trends, and opportunities/risks, to influence the financial forecasting process.
  • Turns business questions into functional analysis – understand the business behind the analysis including financial impacts in terms of sales, margin, expense, and customer KPIs.
  • Sharing insights! Translate data into compelling storytelling and confidently present to influence key stakeholders.
Experience
  • Experience with financial modeling, reporting, and advanced analytics.
  • Bachelor's Degree in business related fields or analytics. Majors preferred: Finance, Analytics, Statistics, Economics and Accounting.
  • Internship or co-op experience involving financial analysis and modeling a plus.
Qualifications
  • Proficient in MS Excel (graphing, pivot tables, data manipulation, formulas, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills including data retrieval, organization, presentation, and summary.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly quantitative, fast-paced environment with changing business needs.
  • A high degree of initiative, personal responsibility, and ownership
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
  • A high degree of analytical curiosity including the ability to identify and proactively solve problems
  • Ability effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines, strong time management skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-team environment in which various business owners and partners require support
  • Ability to foster relationships with cross-functional counterparts and key stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with reporting or query tools
