Our Assistant Catering Sales Managerworks closely with the Catering Sales Manager to provide timely response and accurate information to interested parties. Responsible for maintaining organization and effectiveness of the catering/conference services department. Successful candidates have strong administrative support skills while working on special projects as assigned while being proactive and responsive in a timely, friendly and professional manner. Additional responsibilities to include booking and coordinating catering only events along with handling smaller corporate groups contracted by sales.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO:
- Set-up and maintain group files for new and repeat bookings, both physical and electronically
- Distribute upcoming Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), weekly event schedule and group resumes
- Confirm group reservations for restaurant, golf, marina, spa to include food and beverage needs
- Gather information to respond to catering only event inquiries
- Book and coordinate smaller catering only events
- Coordinate smaller groups booked by the Sales Team
- Have an understanding of the sales process to be able to handle small group bookings from inquiry to contract
- Compile group billing information
- Track room block pick up reports
- Update vendor product and service listings
- Help prepare for pre-con meetings and wedding tastings
- Maintain complete knowledge of hotel features, services and hours of operation
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- College Degree or 1-2 years of catering /hospitality related supervisory experience
- Clear and concise written and verbal skills coupled with excellent time management abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Maintaining a high degree of professional communication while remaining highly organized and detail oriented
- The ability to function effectively in a fast-paced atmosphere
- Present excellent customer service skills in an effort to drive continuous client engagement
- Excellent knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office products
- Exceptional follow through on items requiring your attention
- Additional consideration will be given to those who have previous catering sales/event planning experience and/or property management systems
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
