Summary/Objective

The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing company sales and establishing active communication and engagement with sales representatives to aid their success. This position is for a self-motivated, confident, and driven individual who focuses on driving sales and building relationships.

Essential Functions

· Becomes adept with current information about services and products available for customers

· Provides timely and accurate information to sales representatives on product knowledge requests

· Anticipates the needs of representatives and addresses them accordingly

· Explores potential business deals and opportunities for sales growth through market trend research

· Assists in developing meaningful sales reports that can be used with representatives as a tool to monitor and grow sales and evaluate a representative’s effectiveness

· Identifies talented sales representatives and agencies in order to recommend changes to existing representation

· Assists in developing a Display Tracking Program to create a more proactive approach to customer’s display items

· Provides high quality customer service for customers designated as commercial and/or national accounts

· Creates innovative ways to build, develop, and pursue new business opportunities

Work Environment

This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, use hands to fingers, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may be required on occasion to lift and/or move items up to and including 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with the expected minimum 40 hours a week. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime may be required as necessary.

Travel

Up to 2-3 weeks of travel annually may be required.

Required Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree preferred

· Four years of business development experience required

· Four years of sales experience required
