Position Overview:
The Account Manager performs the critical role of ensuring that our sourced cannabis products are sold to our retail partners. This role supports sales, including customer service and order processing, industry and product knowledge, proactive lead and sales generation, sales team collaboration, and event support. The Account Manager is expected to be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about all cannabis, including flowers, extracts, infused products, topicals, and edibles. This is a highly independent role that requires initiative, managing self and time effectively; all Account Managers must represent our company with integrity and professionalism at all times.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (This may not include all duties assigned)
General Duties (Not Exhaustive of all Duties)
- Build rapport through regular onsite visits with customers and provide personalized product recommendations for retailers.
- Leverage a variety of online and offline resources to identify prospective customers.
- Continually foster and develop relationships with our cultivation and extraction/manufacturing partners.
- Analyze customers’ purchase histories to identify opportunities for product sales and training.
- Continually brainstorm, create, and execute lead-gen and sales campaigns in coordination with other Sales Team members.
- Regularly create, improve, or share tools that support the Sales Team, such as sales strategies, marketing tips, and best practices.
Daily Tasks: (Not Exhaustive of all Tasks)
- Conduct outbound sales by contacting potential and existing customers, mainly by phone.
- Conduct inbound sales by providing outstanding customer service to existing accounts.
- Answer incoming calls in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
- Process phone orders and identify natural upsell opportunities.
- Help troubleshoot web orders, late deliveries, and order-processing challenges.
- Ensure customers receive purchase-related information, such as estimated delivery schedules and return policies.
- Be knowledgeable about product catalog, prices, and availability.
- Relay product-related customer feedback to the management team.
- Ensure that all orders are processed following METRC guidelines.
Industry and Product Knowledge
- Pursue continuing education about market conditions, customer trends, regulations, and industry developments, through sales- or trade-related events, vendor or manufacturer meetings, conferences, and publications.
- Stay current with trending products, brands, vendors, and competitors.
- Have direct experience with or know the fundamentals of cannabis cultivation, extraction, and manufacturing and speak confidently to our retailers’ product provider’s methods.
- Adapt and stay on top of the latest cannabis consumption methods and products trends.
- Maintain an ongoing understanding of new products and continually engage new product providers.
Event Support
- Staff company installations at events and assist with physical tasks like setting up and taking down the booth
- Manage all aspects of event-related planning, including travel, samples, inventory, promotions, documentation, and occasional orders
Technology and Other Requirements:
- Must be highly functional on a modern PC.
- Proficient in Word and Excel, 2015 or newer.
- Able to type 50 WPM or faster.
- Proficiency with G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Drive), security, and sharing knowledge. Ability to manage email.
- Able to convert documents to PDF format, troubleshoot document resolution issues.
- Familiarity with network printing, scanning and sending documents, driver installation, and troubleshooting.
- Must be smartphone fluent.
- Must have a clear understanding of internet research standards and protocols.
- Support the mission and spirit of the organization and be comfortable with cannabis.
- Be patient, proactive, positive, and a team player.
- Self-starting with solid follow-through and multi-tasking capabilities.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and challenging workload.
- Must interact effectively with all levels of management and staff, internally and externally.
- Highly proficient in CRM technology and can use software to manage sales.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A high-school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two years of cannabis sales experience, knowledge, and previous experience with cannabis sales is highly desirable.
- Five years of sales or customer service experience.
- Working knowledge of computer programs as described.
- Must be at least 21 years old and pass a criminal background check.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
- Current, valid driver’s license.
- Clean driving record.
- Reliable vehicle and insurance.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work may require prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a computer, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing. Requires close vision with the ability to see color and adjust focus. Lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly using smart lifting techniques.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is high-energy, fast-paced, and, due to the nature of the current regulatory landscape, often highly stressful. Position requires regular availability to work Monday through Friday from 9 am to 6 pm, occasional nights, weekends, holidays, and special events. May require up to 50% of hours worked to travel.
