About the role as Sr Account Executive

The Sr. Account Executive will report to the VP of Sales and be responsible for sales management and customer relationship at named major utility accounts across a defined geographical region. You will develop and manage a sales pipeline of opportunities focused on enterprise cloud-base software sales for electric/gas utilities and system operators on the east coast. This position requires a driven and talented sales professional with proven abilities to identify potential opportunities, engage with key decision makers, identify technical requirements, build a robust sales pipeline, and exceed sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own, develop and implement market-, region-, account-specific sales strategies that expand the company’s total marketshare, generate increased usage and product adoption to achieve aggressive growth objectives in annual license fees and professional services
  • Work with your existing and growing C-Suite customer relationships to up-, cross-sell different software offerings executing on a unified account engagement model
  • Own customer engagements end-to-end, from prospecting and qualification to close
  • Experience handling and owning enterprise deal sizes and C-Level relationships
  • Willing and comfortable with strategic outbound prospecting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Carry voice of the customer and market to influence product roadmap, marketing initiatives, and corporate priorities
  • Attend and present at select trade shows and conferences
  • Maintain salesforce.com and keep management and other key stakeholders appraised on sales activities and pipeline

Required Skills, Qualifications, Competencies & Characteristics

  • A highly experienced leader in selling software in B2B SaaS/Cloud, ideally to utility customers
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of utility sales experience, with emphasis on “Hunter” sales
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university, technical degree preferred
  • Master’s Degree in Business (MBA) preferred but not a must
  • Proven sales leadership experience at the senior and/or executive level; respected within the utility industry
  • A collaborative and team-oriented leadership style; a sense of urgency, execution, and willingness to be accountable
  • Excellent knowledge of assigned technical areas and a strong understanding of SaaS software
  • Knowledge and experience with electric utility industry practices
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to travel; often overnight
