JOB SUMMARY:
The Leasing Consultant reports to the Community Manager and/or the Assistant Manager. The Leasing Consultant is responsible for all activities related to apartment rentals, move-ins and lease renewals. This includes generating and handling traffic, leasing apartments, qualifying prospects, preparing lease documentation and completing move-in procedures in accordance with the company's policies and procedures. Leasing Consultants provide high quality resident service and convey resident service requests to the Maintenance Technicians and other service associates. This position is also responsible for complying with all state, federal and/or local laws relating to Fair Housing. Weekends and early evenings will be required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Leasing Consultant is responsible for being a primary contact for residents and prospective residents by leasing apartments, coordinating resident activities and building and maintaining resident relations. Must assist the Community Manager with current market information, as well as handling telephone and on-site traffic by showing ready apartments, qualifying prospects and closing the lease.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A strong background in customer service is extremely helpful, as is experience in sales. High school diploma required. Computer literacy in MS Word, e-mail and a familiarity with the Internet required. Criminal/credit background check and reliable transportation required. Must have a valid driver’s license.
