Volkmann is a world leading bulk powder handling systems and machinery manufacturer. As part of our US team, the After-Market Sales Representative will be responsible for sales of Volkmann spare parts, meeting Volkmann sales goals and objectives, along with internal processing of spare parts orders. Business is developed by working directly with customers, and providing support to sales engineers and external sales representatives as required.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Work closely with Volkmann sales engineers to contact and develop new spare parts sales opportunities and maintain relationships with existing customers and key accounts
- Collect and respond to incoming spare parts inquiries
- Review customer RFQs and provide technical clarification to confirm needs
- Prepare spare parts quotations and pricing calculations
- Close sales for spare parts to meet sales targets
- Internally process spare parts orders in a timely manner using company accounting/ERP system by creating new sales orders, creating and issuing purchase orders, creating warehouse pick lists, preparing itemized packing lists, and generating invoices
- Work with shipping/receiving to verify correct items, quantities, packaging, and shipping information for each spare parts shipment and to ensure that orders are shipped on-time according to required delivery dates
- Perform after-sales follow-up to verify that customer is satisfied with order
- Develop and maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of Volkmann spare parts
- Statistical analysis of spare parts orders by territory, industry, product type and preparation of commission calculations in Excel
- Maintain actual physical inventory and inventory adjustments in accounting/ERP software
- Maintain spare parts sales pricing in accounting software
- Process and log return authorizations when needed
Professional Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years spare parts sales-related experience, preferably in the process machinery industry
- Ability to effectively communicate and connect directly with customer employees including operators, maintenance personnel, purchasing staff, and production management
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills
- Self-assured and professional with customer-centered attitude
Education and Skills Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Proficiency with Sage accounting software is a plus
- Familiarity with sales CRM systems (ACT!)
- Microsoft Office 365 skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
