Retail Sales Packaging Sales Representative (Outside Sales) in Fremont, CA
Position Summary
The Packaging Sales Representative will be responsible for selling products offered by the packaging segment of the company to existing and new customers. The incumbent will assure adherence to company policies, procedures, and the achievement of sales expectations within the assigned territory for packaging product.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new packaging sales leads.
- Communicates with customers and leads to identify and understand their needs; identifies and suggests products to meet those needs.
- Demonstrates the functions and utility of products to customers based on their needs.
- Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale.
- Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products and enhancements that may be of interest.
- Manages detailed reports on Phocas of sales activities, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
- Manages and tracks sales opportunities.
- Periodically attends sales training and seminars related to the packaging industry.
- Provides periodic territory sales forecasts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business, Sales or a related field is preferred (5+ years’ sales in packaging, paper, or a similar industry may be considered in lieu of a degree)
Minimum Experience
- 5+ years’ outside sales experience
- Paper, printing, graphics, packaging industry experience preferred, but not required
- Basic mathematical skills
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills (i.e., ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships).
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
- Valid Driver’s license (non-commercial) with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to drive 50-100 miles per day.
Commissions can range from $0-$1,500 monthly

Pay: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
