Sales Application Engineer in Scarborough, ME
UCT is currently seeking an organized, self-motivated and energetic individual to support the strategic Global Account team in an inside sales and application engineering role.
Job Summary: Sales Application Engineer
This person must possess a strong drive to succeed, be proactive in supporting customers and following up on sales opportunities, have strong technical knowledge of Physics of Materials and Chemistry, and an understanding of Semiconductor principles would be an added value and present a professional demeanor which will reflect positively on UCT and our company image.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all inbound sales and tier-one technical support enquiries.
- Create new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-ups.
- Identify and propose solutions based on customers’ technical and application requirements.
- Support UCT business development managers and account managers by managing technical sales-based interactions with customers and following up on newly identified opportunities.
- Provide technical support for UCT’s business development managers and account managers.
- Provide important market and customer feedback to UCT for product improvements and new product development.
- When called upon, represent UCT Services at customer meetings, trade shows and technical conferences
- Sales Application Engineer, reporting to the Global Account Director, will be responsible for supporting UCT sales personnel and customers.
- The Sales Application Engineer will be one of the first points to contact for customers contacting UCT to enquire about UCT products and solutions. Jointly working with the CSS team, he will support complex inquiries.
- The Sales Application Engineer will be responsible for selecting the best solutions (Technical, location) in alignment with the engineering team for all customer’s requirements and will be required to work with UCT customer service and account managers to follow up on open sales opportunities to ensure these opportunities are converted to sales orders
- Create quotations and technical proposals for customers.
- Maintain detailed records of all interactions with customers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- A strong drive to succeed is essential to this position.
- Proficient knowledge of PC applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Educational/Certification Requirement:
- A Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
Experience Requirement:
Work Experience:
- Must possess a strong technical background and the ability to discuss complex technical requirements with customers.
- Inside sales experience is preferred (Optional).
- Ability to multitask and change priorities to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
