Overview:
OMNI has been engaged by Tri-Lateral Sales, Inc. in their search for a Sales Manager. Family owned and operated, Tri-Lateral Sales offers great products, and competitive pricing in the fields of packaging, janitorial, industrial, food service, office and shipping supplies. With offices in Kansas City and Springfield, MO they pride themselves on quality products, competitive pricing, and superior service.

Reporting to the Kansas City Sales Manager, the Springfield Sales Manager oversees the sales function for the Springfield location and is responsible for the development and performance of the Springfield sales department. The primary function of this position is to drive and build sales through the hiring, training and motivating of sales representatives. The Sales manager provides overall leadership, focus, direction and support for the sales department. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the Vice President, Kansas City Sales Manager, department managers and essential staff in the development and implementation of operational strategies, goals, plans and tactics for driving new business and expanding business with current clients.
  • Ensure all related business development, client services and sales staff development functions in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Review quotes generated by sales team to ensure pricing is competitive and aligned with current market conditions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for current and prospective clients and promote lasting, mutually satisfactory relationships with clients in all markets.
  • Ensure all staff are properly coached and directed, and that clearly defined measurements of performance and rewards are utilized to enhance individual and organizational effectiveness.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews with sales reps to understand their needs for additional training and development for their overall improvement and to enhance communications.
  • Act as a principal steward of the organization’s resources. Ensure all resources are utilized properly, legally & ethically, and that all those entrusted to manage or represent the affairs of the organization are properly directed and highly effective.
  • Uphold the mission, values, and principles of the organization at all times. Ensure all business endeavors and relationships, as well as the individual performance of each associate, are consistent with the organization’s mission, values, policies and goals.
Essential Functions/ Key Competencies
  • Demonstrate a high level of skill at building business relationships and strategic partnerships with internal as well as external resources.
  • Demonstrate a strong financial acumen. Analyze and communicate sales data and sales rep activity in an accurate, objective and straightforward manner on a weekly basis.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflict, promote change and growth, and inspire the development of a highly effective team of professionals.
  • Travel consists of Springfield, MO and surrounding areas to monitor operational performance and activity, and to establish relationships with key customers, vendors, and affiliates.
  • Use lead generation and sales information systems currently in place.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience directly managing a sales team.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience selling business solutions.
  • Demonstrated record of driving sales growth.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with an ERP with embedded CRM software is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent writing skills.
