The Director, Business Transformation will report to the Senior Director, Business Transformation and be responsible for strategy development, implementation, and execution of key business transformation initiatives across the organization to deliver innovative, effective, and efficient solutions for Advancement operations. Additional responsibilities include change management support and collaboration with stakeholders to identify, design, and implement changes to processes, policies, and systems that align with Advancement’s business strategy and vision.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Serves as functional lead for assigned functional area(s) throughout the Design & Build, Data Migration, Testing, and Training stages will include the following: Works with program leadership in defining and managing scope, timelines, and overall program activities related to all assigned functional areas. Guides and makes decisions on system functionality for assigned functional area(s). Lead and motivate functional working groups to complete program deliverables. Coordinates activities with consultants and other Washington University resources. Leads business process analysis to review business processes to identify opportunities for improvement, areas for standardization, and potential gaps in functionality. Mediates and facilitates discussions around system configuration and business processes that impact multiple functional areas to ensure optimal solutions. Leads implementation of redesigned business processes in Advancement systems through defining configuration work, page layouts, workflows, automation, security roles, and user testing. Manages policy and procedure documentation for assigned functional area(s). Assesses reporting and analytics needs for assigned functional area(s), defines reporting and dashboard requirements, and manages reporting and dashboard testing. Provides input on integration needs for assigned functional area(s) and oversee integrations testing. Provides guidance and support for change management to ensure documentation of implications of related change and inform strategies to prepare staff for forthcoming changes to minimize challenges and aid in high adoption of new systems and processes. Informs learning plan for new functionality and business processes, collaborating with the Advancement Systems Learning team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ten years of prior experience in managing advancement operations/systems.
- Experience managing project(s) that resulted in providing a new service.
- Experience with Salesforce.
- Ability to work independently and proactively and providing direction and leadership to team members.
- Proven ability to creatively solve complex technical or business problems and to influence outcomes through persuasion, effective communications and relationship building.
- Demonstrated skills in project analysis, negotiation, systems analysis, leadership and team building, client relationship management, process improvement and strategic planning.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities such as conflict/issue resolution.
- Ability to organize and work effectively in a matrix organization with cross-functional project teams from various departments and locations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new circumstances.
- Ability to adjust to changes in priorities and demands on time.
- Significant ingenuity and flexibility are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Ten years of relevant experience. Relevant experience includes fundraising or fundraising operations, alumni relations, financial operations, university or large institution business processes, data management, customer relations, business process analysis.

G16Salary Range
$94,100.00 - $165,600.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.Accommodation
