Full description of the position

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in positions where proficiency has been demonstrated in handling cash transactions, reconciling sales and receipts, and providing courteous and professional customer service. Must have proven ability to effectively respond to customer requests/complaints, balance customer interests with those of business, weigh alternatives, and within guidelines to determine appropriate action. Knowledge of the greater metropolitan area and of MARTA's system and service schedules is highly desirable.

These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.

SUMMARY
Communicates with MARTA patrons by telephone, written correspondence, and in person to address, document, resolve, and follow-up on customer complaints, concerns, requests, suggestions, and commendations. Reconciles sales receipts, maintains accurate inventories of media and serves as custodian over a working fund. Assembles all documentation for the preparation of daily deposits. Documents and responds to all customer inquiries regarding MARTA’s Automated Fare Collection fare media and equipment disputes. Ensures customer issues are addressed in a timely, efficient, effective, and customer focused manner, in accordance with MARTA policies and procedures. Conducts in-depth investigations on recurring transportation and maintenance issues to resolve customer complaints and concerns. Monitors, reviews, and analyzes customer concern trends. Provides recommendations to MARTA's management to reduce and resolve negative trends. Assist in special event activities, to ensure sale of Breeze media at designated locations. Maintains the data and includes the Nextfare System and Graphical User Interface for Breeze card inquiries, research transactions, registration, processing and hot listing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Communicates with MARTA patrons by telephone, written correspondence, and in person to address, document, resolve, and follow-up on customer complaints, concerns, requests, suggestions, and commendations. Documents and responds to all customer inquiries regarding MARTA’s Automated Fare Collection fare media and equipment disputes. Ensures customer issues are addressed in a timely, efficient, effective, and customer focused manner, in accordance with MARTA policies and procedures.

2. Operates Ticket Office Machine (TOM) cash/credit and check collection equipment and performs daily reconciliation of sales activity, restitution and receipts.
3. Maintains accurate inventories of fare media and balances working fund daily. Safeguards monies/media always.
4. Assists customers with registering their Breeze Cards. Collects and enters relevant information into the customer database.

5. Provides support to the RideStore Assistant with performing customer restitution and adjustments, for Breeze Media that is cracked, malfunction, regional adjustments and loss of monies and fare in the Breeze Vending Machines.

7. Maintains and reconciles Breeze media inventory

8. Assures proper and adequate media is on hand daily, as well as an adequate supply of change in working fund.
9. Provides requested account services such as processing lost, stolen, or malfunctioning cards and updating account information (such as name, address, and telephone updates).

10. Conducts in-depth investigations on recurring transportation and maintenance issues to resolve customer complaints and concerns. Investigations may require, for example, audit of Automated Fare Collection system, and communicating with internal departments.

11. Provides information to patrons on bus and rail service disruptions, special events, services, and MARTA policies and procedures.

12. Perform other duties as assigned.
