SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Sales to lead our Cutting Tool & Metalwork commercial organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales management and a deep understanding of the Cutting Tool & Metalwork industry. The Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies that drive revenue growth and market share, while ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working across the organization with the General Managers to develop and implement cutting tool sales strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Manage and motivate a team of sales professionals to achieve sales targets and quotas.
- Implements methods and systems to effectively analyze and monitor the industry, business environment, and competitors and expand the customer base.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders.
- May personally participate in or negotiate strategic or high-value sales.
- Provide expert guidance and technical support to customers on Cutting Tool & Metalwork products and applications.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop sales collateral, promotional materials, and sales training programs.
- Conduct market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies and products.
- Monitor and report on sales performance and market trends, and provide regular feedback to senior management.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering or related field required; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales management in the Cutting Tool & Metalwork industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and industry stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Strong leadership, analytical, mathematical, presentation, problem solving and interpersonal skills are required. Good organizational skills and follow-up are essential, as are multi-tasking skills and attention to detail. Requires an enthusiastic, aggressive, self-starter who has excellent communication skills. Up to 50 % travel may be required.
