We are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and systems. This includes creating user interfaces, developing back-end components, and integrating applications with third-party web services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software development principles and a proven track record of developing high-quality applications.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and Generate Leads: Utilize market research, industry knowledge, and networking to identify potential clients and projects suitable for our designed-build services.
- Conduct Client Needs Analysis: Collaborate with clients to understand their mechanical system requirements, goals, and challenges. Conduct on-site visits and gather relevant data to create customized solutions.
- Design and Proposal Development: Work closely with our engineering and design teams to develop detailed project proposals that align with client requirements and meet industry standards. Utilize Autodesk and Revit design software to assist in building information modeling functions.
- Sales Presentations: Deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations to clients, showcasing the unique value propositions of our designed-build projects. Effectively communicate technical information, including BIM functionalities, in a clear and concise manner.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with existing and potential clients, architects, contractors, and industry stakeholders. Act as a trusted advisor and provide ongoing support throughout the sales process, leveraging BIM expertise as needed.
- Negotiation and Contract Management: Collaborate with clients to negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to ensure mutually beneficial agreements. Coordinate with the legal and operations teams to finalize contracts and ensure smooth project handoff.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Monitor sales activities, track project progress, and provide regular reports to management. Forecast future sales and revenue potential, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Market Research: Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors' offerings, particularly in BIM and Autodesk/Revit design software. Analyze market conditions to identify potential areas for business expansion and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, business administration, or a related field. A combination of relevant education and work experience will also be considered.
- Sales Experience: Proven track record in sales, preferably within the mechanical contracting or construction industry. Experience selling designed-build projects is highly desirable.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing, and other related fields. Ability to comprehend technical drawings, specifications, and engineering concepts. Working knowledge of Autodesk and Revit design software for building information modeling functions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex ideas, including BIM functionalities, in a clear and concise manner. Effective presentation and negotiation abilities are essential.
- Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, industry professionals, and internal stakeholders. Strong networking and interpersonal skills.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze client requirements, identify potential issues, and develop innovative solutions. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Self-Motivated: Highly motivated and results-oriented. Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Computer Proficiency: Proficient in using CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant sales and project management tools. Working knowledge of Autodesk and Revit design software for building information modeling functions.
