Now Hiring - C-Axis - Applications Engineer in Hamel, MN

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop Layout’s, process sketches/prints/models, Set-Up methodology and CNC programs for machine tools.

• 3, 4, 5 Axis milling, Swiss, Lathe, CNC Grinding, lapping, honing, Wire EDM and secondary operations.

• Use knowledge of machine operations and code to control CNC machine operation to develop cycle times for business proposals.

• Provide process plans and cycle times for cost estimates for quoting new business opportunities.

• Provide quotes for tooling and fixtures for new business opportunities.

• Provide technical assistance to Sales in communicating information to customers and to enable company to win new business.

• Work with Quality Assurance team to develop quality plans for part manufacturing and testing.

• Provide ideas for manufacturing improvements to reduce costs and improve quality.

• Recommend sourcing of supplies, service, tools and equipment from outside vendors.

• Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations, and departmental housekeeping standards.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Two year degree in related field preferred.

• 3-5 years related work experience as a manufacturing engineer with CNC programming capabilities.

Other Qualifications:

• 3-5 years programming on the job using G&M codes and Mastercam, or comparable software (reading, editing AND writing)

• Experience setting up and operating 3, 4, 5 Axis milling, Swiss, Lathe, CNC Grinding, lapping, honing, Wire EDM.

• 3-5 years of experience with CAM/CAD programs.

• 3-5 years of experience interpreting GD&T of blueprint specifications.

• Knowledge of heat treating, platings, Nitriding etc.

• Strong working knowledge of speeds and feeds for cutting various materials

Summary of job function: The ideal candidate has developed and improved processes, quality plans, tooling, tooling design. CNC Programs, Labor Routings and Standard Work documentation for new or existing parts for complex machined components in the medical device industry.
