Position title: Sales Engineer
Reports to: President
Summary: The Sales Engineer will be focused on developing new business, as well as retaining and developing business with existing customers. You will build excellent customer relationships and drive sales results. Autonomy, drive, and desire to win are paramount. We are looking for someone to make ownership of entire sales cycle. The ideal candidate should be able to clearly articulate highly technical concepts to all prospective clients.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in coordination of technical sales activities related to perspective customers and partners
- Transfer industry, technical, and product knowledge to customers and partners
- Prepare and give technical presentations to explain to customers how the products and services work, in person, at trade shows, and online meetings
- Provide technical support via phone, email, and meeting for company’s products; answer technical inquiries, diagnose reported problems or configuration issues, recommend possible solutions or escalate if no resolution found
- Work with the customers and engineers to ensure products and equipment meet system requirements
- Secure orders, guarantee product standards and assure product delivery
- Analyzes customer's technical specifications, recommends the best product configuration and installation process, and estimates implementation effort, time, and resources
- Ensures sales proposals for accurate, complete, reasonable and of high quality.

Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in technical sales and/or project management.
Required Skills:
- Competitive knowledge including solutions, technology, and product offerings
- Understands and is conversant about company, competitors, technologies, solutions, product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
- Demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative pre-sales skills through communications and presentation delivery to prospects, customers, and partners
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding listening and presentation skills
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple simultaneous projects
Preferred Skills
- Marketing skills, including on-line marketing (such as Linked In, Twitter, Press Releases).
- Website development and upkeep experience
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, SharePoint, etc.)
Education
- Bachelor of Science form an accredited university in Engineering, Physics, or Business.
- Equivalent work experience will be considered.
ITAR Requirements:
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
Other Requirements:
- 30% travel will be expected.
- Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
- All applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Must use personal mobile device for multi-factor authentication (MFA) for system access. This authenticates your identity
- Must be willing to use personal mobile device for Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams apps, in exchange for a mobile device stipend
Space Information Laboratories’ Mission:

Compensation:
- Salary Range: $79,600.00 (Level I) to $$153,100.00 (Level V)
- Medical Benefits: Company-paid health, dental, and vision insurance, which includes one hundred percent (100%) coverage for the employee and fifty percent (50%) coverage for dependents
- Retirement Benefits: Company 401k retirement plan, where the company will match up to four percent (4%) of employee contributions, subject to plan terms and conditions.
- Insurance Benefits: $15,000 in company-paid life insurance
- Other Benefits: Two (2) weeks of annual vacation, five (5) days of sick leave, and eleven (11) annual government holidays.
