Full description of the position

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for revenue generation through daily ticket sales activities utilizing current relationships and new business development efforts. This individual will develop and manage a sales pipeline for Cleveland Guardians with a focus on seasons, group tickets, single game suite rentals and other sales priorities/campaigns. Manage the entire sales cycle from finding a client to securing a deal utilizing “The Guardians Way” to Sales & Service Excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Generating revenue through the sale of season tickets, group tickets, single game suite rentals and other sales priorities determined by the Supervisor
  • Gaining consumer insights by following "The Guardians Way" to Sales & Service Excellence process which includes researching potential prospects and gaining key information that will help us to understand our fans by identifying their needs and providing solutions that will create a positive relationship between the Cleveland Guardians and our fans
  • Using “The Guardians Way to Sales Excellence”, actively seek new business via prospecting, networking events, cold calls, face to face appointments and in-park appointments
  • Creating a business plan to foster new business and help drive new revenue into the organization
  • Actively gain a better understanding of the products we sell and provide fact based selling solutions that will meet our fans needs work in the development and execution of group event programs and theme nights at Progressive Field
  • Attend team, public events and prospecting events that will generate potential sales opportunities, etc. Visit prospects and fans during home games to continually build relationship and fan engagement
  • Assist in fulfilling events and servicing groups when scheduled. This includes on-field activities and other fan experiences as assigned Assist in planning and executing unique fan experiences designed to retain or gain new business through creativity, idea sharing, industry best practices and experiences
  • Provide accurate updates on prospecting activity, sales performance, face to face appointments, large event recaps, customer relationship management, and discussions about overall personal development plans with Supervisor
  • Assist in scheduling sales table and manager on duty shifts
  • Mentor SDPs & BDPs and provide them firsthand experience to help with their development Update the Sales and Service team on progress as we move through our business objectives Assist in CRM and the scoring of different campaigns
  • Aid in identifying ticket re sellers across all product segments, (Season Tickets, Group Tickets, and single game Suite Rentals).
  • Monitor ticket sales to ensure that ticket resellers are not taking advantage of special offers/big games. (Opening Day, Fee-Free Weekends, Company links, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years of sales experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience required
  • Computer knowledge and proficiency with but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Knowledge and user experience on ticketing system software required
  • Superior phone and call system skills
  • Experience with customer relations management software necessary (Microsoft CRM, etc... )
  • Basic understanding of organizational structure, goals and mission

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to consistently meet or exceed sales objectives
  • Ability to assist with creation, edit, and production of sales related materials
  • Ability to understand and execute the sales process
  • Required to work home games based on a rotating schedule of staff.
    • Responsibilities include visitation of season ticket holders, single game suite rentals, on-field activities (including presentations, parades and first pitches), new client prospecting and entertainment
    • Occasional additional game day and non-game day duties as directed by job responsibilities and workload, including the single game ticket on sale dates
