We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Bulk/Specialty Sales Rep (Inside Sales). This is a great opportunity for a talented person to contribute to a small but growing business. Position
The Bulk/Specialty Sales Rep will apply his/her sales and chemical knowledge to respond to customer semi-bulk and bulk inquiries, identify suppliers, enter purchase orders, and track materials from purchase through receipt and shipment to the customer. This position is ideally suited for someone with prior semi-bulk and bulk sales experience related to the purchase and sale of research chemicals, metals, and materials. Experience marketing semi-bulk and bulk chemicals and metals as well as familiarity with best SEO practices would be a plus.

The ideal candidate will not only source and procure products but will be an excellent and timely communicator with the ability to market select materials with the aid of internal and external resources.
Job Responsibilities
Source general and hard to find chemicals and metals for the purpose of growing BTC’s specialty/bulk sales volume
Communicate clearly with customers to provide the best service possible.
Enter purchase orders and determine the best routing options
Track orders placed from entry date through in-house receipt and shipment to customers
Negotiate the best possible product prices, including any freight duty and tax costs
Strive to provide quotes within 24 hours whenever possible while communicating any delays in the process to customers in a timely and polite manner
Identify new product opportunities through consultation with customers and BTC technical service group
Review, maintain and assign product data as needed, including product descriptions, pricing, physical characteristics, chemical structures drawings, etc.
Work with internal personnel to ensure the smooth processing of bulk/specialty sales orders
Competitor monitoring (pricing, product offering, promotions, etc.)
Increase bulk/specialty sales volume and value.
Other Duties as Assigned
Job Requirements
2 to 5+ years of experience in the chemical industry
A B.S or B.A. degree in Chemistry is not required but would be a major plus
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to create and implement marketing and sales strategies
Good computer skills, proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Self-starter with the ability to work under minimal supervision
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Keen attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
BeanTown Chemical Corporation (BTC) distributes a line of specialty chemicals, including organics, inorganics, and metals and materials. The company’s corporate headquarters and main distribution center are located in Hudson, NH. BeanTown Chemicals will offer over 7,000 products, which will be primarily used for research and development in the pharmaceutical industry, chemical industry, government institutions and academia. Products will be available in pre-packaged catalog quantities, as well as semi-bulk and bulk quantities. To further meet its customers’ needs, the company will also offer custom synthesis and special packaging services.
