Job Description:

Batory Foods is a national food ingredient distributor that has built a successful business and superior reputation by hiring and retaining the most talented people in the industry. We are looking to add an organized and highly motivated Continuous Improvement LSS (Lean Six Sigma) Black Belt to our Continuous Improvement team which is working to create and maintain a companywide continuous improvement culture and strategy. The LSS Black Belt will report to the Master Black Belt and assist them in creating and implementing process improvements, manage projects and standardize processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Culture

• Help establish a culture of continuous improvement.
• Provide basic training to employees to establish a baseline knowledge of CI principles.

Continuous improvement

• Create and implement project ideas.
• Participate in and Lead Continuous Improvement projects.
• Help the master black belt manage the overall project pipeline.
• Manage key CI projects from start to finish, ensuring simplification and sustainability when turned over to the Process Owner.
• Work cross functionally and collaboratively with a bottom-up approach to capture and move forward the best ideas.

Support problem-solving and root cause analysis

• Assist other departments in the organization in problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Lead root cause analysis and preventative action investigations.
• Gather, analyze, and derive clear conclusions from various types of data sets.
• Build models and/or use software where necessary to solve complex problems.

Personal Qualifications:

• Be extremely self-motivated and constantly curios.
• Strong understanding of Data Analytics, Process Improvement Principles
• Ability to problem solve and work in a fast-paced environment without a lot of structure and/or supervision.
• Proven experience communicating with a range of different stakeholders and strong presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
• LSS Black Belt Certified.

Education and Formal Training:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, food science, food technology, microbiology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in continuous improvement, quality assurance, food safety, food distribution, food manufacturing, or related field is preferred.
• Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with minimum 2 years in dedicated CI (Continuous Improvement) role preferred.
