Full description of the position

Overview:
Grow With Us! The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to build relationships and service our benefits customers.

This position will report to our agency located in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a remote position.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze Employee Benefit products and recommend benefit solutions for clients.
  • Meet with carriers and review product portfolio.
  • Act as liaison for the client/carrier relationship
  • Maintain carrier relationship.
  • Provide / present educational meetings for employees (in-person & virtual)
  • Manage claims resolution.
  • Oversee billing and administrative Issues.
  • Prepare annual renewals (to include but not limited to Requests For Proposals)
  • Present benefit plans at open enrollment meetings
  • Proactively manage client inquiries
  • Assist with renewal negotiation.
  • Knowledge Requirements
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with current Health, Life, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability
  • (LTD), Short Term Disability (STD) and worksite products.
  • Build knowledge of and familiarity with compliance regulations.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of clients and agency staff.
  • Ability to run an effective meeting, using listening, reasoning, and articulate communication skills.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Possession of current Virginia state insurance license health/life annuities is preferred; Employee who does not possess licensure will be required to obtain Insurance Licensure (Health, Life and Annuities) within 30 days of initial employment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Comprehensive written and verbal communication skills, high energy, and enthusiasm, strong interpersonal, motivation, and leadership skills and willingness to self-direct and work independently, exceptional planning, problem solving and organization skills to provide extraordinary customer service to customers and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft EXCEL spreadsheets and other computer programs necessary for the position.
  • Must also have proven and successful sales record and the ability to implement verified sales practices and successful market strategies while maintaining a high level of ethics, values, integrity, and trust.
