Position Summary:

Take ownership of the organization’s data analytics and reporting to empower programs and the Council to utilize the data in decision making and fundraising. Provide data collection, maintenance, database management, data analysis, generate reports and combining it all into a useful and presentable form. Will have to apply a mixture of analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to define tendencies in complex data sets and the ability to relay them to others. The data analyst provides support in the creation of detailed analytical models by providing expert opinion related to the integration and processing of data relevant to the Council. Data analysts are also responsible for providing quantitative support to management and stakeholders. Must be capable of presenting their findings clearly via clear and concise reports and oral presentations.


Job Qualifications

Database Administrators must have at least a bachelor’s degree, in Computer science, MIS or Database Administration or related field. Must possess advanced computer skills, knowledge of additional databases such as Salesforce. At least three years of experience in roles such as Data Analyst, Database Manager, Database Administrator, MIS, Data Processing Specialist, Programming, or Development.


  • Familiarity with Salesforce Platform and Salesforce Certification required.
  • Strong data reporting skills, technical understanding, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
  • The data analyst must be able to work well under pressure and achieve results within the scheduled time-frame
  • Familiarity with database queries
  • Knowledge of database design and theories
  • Ability to work with data architects and other IT specialist to set up, maintain and monitor data networks
  • Familiarity with database management best practices
  • Experience with a variety of computer information systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms
  • Must have an understanding of project management.

  • Quantitative skills: it is vital that applicants for the data analyst job have knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis software to provide quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Ability to undertake in-depth research, quantify the information and produce qualitative and quantitative reports. They must also be able to utilize data obtained to develop concise summaries targeted at decision points
  • Must also be capable of presenting their findings clearly via reports and oral presentations
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team oriented environment, and independently
  • Must have advanced Excel skills with the ability to write macros and do pivot tables and advanced knowledge of Access to undertake querying, creation of tables, and formulas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to converse and collaborate with all levels of employees
  • Must have attention to detail and accuracy: must have the ability to pay meticulous attention to detail, factoring every piece that might alter the validity of data.
  • Undertake data collection from our new database software with a Salesforce platform to generate relevant data for analysis.
  • Provide expertise and translate the raw data into useful data, summaries, and reports utilizing techniques, and metrics and dashboards for insights and data visualization
  • Advising technical team; coordinating and database design.
  • Protect the integrity of the database by developing policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Store, manage and organize data as well as preserving data integrity by enforcing standards and controls.
  • Extracting and/or loading data
  • Coordinating with the IT Dept to monitor the performance of hardware and software and cybersecurity measures and that data is stored in a safe and secure manner
  • Analyze and interpret collected data using statistical tools and computer software to provide clarity to the non-technical audience
  • Create visualizations, including dashboards, flowcharts, and graphs to relay business concepts through visuals to management, funding sources, colleagues and other relevant stakeholders
  • Maintaining database as well as identify new process improvement opportunities
  • Identify useful trends and provide management with relevant information that will facilitate informed decisions
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting on program status
  • Analyze the Council’s services provided for trends, volume, demographics, and metrics and forecasting.
  • Conduct research on relevant information related to individual queries or systemic issues
  • Carry out statistical analysis and ad hoc reporting as required
  • Develop analytics to identify trend lines across several data sources within the organization
  • Perform data analysis of situations, such as strategies, performance, and solutions involving client numbers and program performance and on data used across programs to evaluate services and predict areas for growth and new programs
  • Perform various data analytics through Salesforce and MS Excel using statistical models or industry accepted tools
  • Provide relational database expertise to develop queries to be used in data analysis activities
  • Provide data solutions, tools, and capabilities for data consumers
  • Utilize tools to monitor and report on data quality
  • Responsible for establishing appreciation and adherence to the principles of data quality and ensuring all staff input data accordingly, accurately, and expeditiously
