Our company is looking for an In-Home Design Consultant to join our team. As an In-Home Design Consultant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and expert design advice to our clients while generating revenue in partnership with our leading brands. Your passion for sales and interior design will be essential in your success as a Design Consultant.

Qualifications:

• Friendly and respectful personality, making others feel comfortable
• Able to maintain relationships and communication with clients through the closing of the project
• Keen attention to detail
• Effective phone/in-person communication with clients, vendors, and co-workers
• Resourcefulness in problem-solving in a client's environment
• Ability to learn and understand basic window treatment design/installation
• Flexibility and dependability with schedules, including availability on nights and weekends to meet our customer needs
• Reliable transportation, as traveling is a must
• Three to five years of experience in either retail, design, sales or customer service

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-home consultations with prospective clients, offering recommendations of proper window treatments based on their wants/needs
• Offer design wisdom and inspiration in-person while helping customers select the perfect window treatments for their home
• Speak comfortably about the functional and stylistic benefits of each of our custom products
• Identify outreach opportunities, including marketing to local interior designers, architects, and general contractors
• Host and attend local design events with support from the owner and office staff
• Participate in ongoing product/technology training, as well as business meetings
• Positive and friendly demeanor toward every customer and colleague
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Awareness of and interest in the design, home décor, and/or luxury industry
• An obsession with creating an elevated client experience
• Demonstrated skillset in project management and providing an elevated client experience
• Excellent computer skills
• Self-starter, quick learner, team player

In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will also:

• Complete 2 to 3 in-home consultations each day to achieve target compensation
• Accurately measure windows and place orders for products
• Discuss job details with installers when necessary
• Document all sales communications
• Respond to emails and phone calls promptly
• Follow up on all leads and pending sales to closure
• Stay current on window treatment trends and product changes

Working Conditions:

• Our consultants are commissioned independent contractors
• Mileage reimbursement
