Under the direction of the VP of Property & Casualty, performs a variety of essential tasks for the Property Casualty Dept to ensure clients receive prompt, accurate and professional service. Duties include completing and following up on applications for renewals, responding to requests for coverage alterations, information or endorsement, updating AMS, managing files. The position also provides ongoing customer service regarding insurance coverage and information requests.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates mid-term policy changes between insurers and insurance carriers.
- Updates AMS on a daily basis in an accurate manner and in accordance with established agency procedures.
- Oversees loss run process by ordering loss runs, maintaining loss run spreadsheet, and sending loss runs to clients.
- Prepares and completes applications for renewals to the insurance carriers.
- Completes marketing of applications for renewals by following up on quotes with Underwriters
- Confirms final policy orders with producer and underwriters; issues binders confirming specifics of coverage
- Manages the accuracy of files by reviewing insurance policies for correct information in relation to the application, carrier quotation, and proposal. Patra does the initial review, then we review.
- Responds to customer requests and premium inquiries ensuring completion/resolution of all customer service contacts.
- Reviews construction contract documents for insurance-related requirements, as needed
- Initiates contact with clients and/or underwriters in order to clarify or acquire necessary information.
- Maintains the confidentiality of all client and organizational data.
- Demonstrates integrity and honesty and a positive attitude toward clients, other staff, management, and business contacts in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: The job requires knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or business/insurance office training.
Possession of a valid State of Michigan Property & Casualty Insurance Agent License.
Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted office procedures.
Experience: Four to six years of experience working in an insurance agency is required.
Skills: Computer skills necessary to maintain various records and prepare reports.
Familiarity with the use of general office equipment.
Good organization and time management skills are required to successfully perform the duties of this position.
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with a wide variety of business associates including clients, all levels of staff, Insurance companies, etc. in the exchange of information and resolution of outstanding issues.
Abilities: Physical ability to sit for prolonged periods of time at the computer.
Mental ability to handle pressures related to meeting deadlines, multi-tasking, and maintaining accurate and detailed records.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Normal office environment with little, if any, discomfort due to heat, dust, noise and the like.
Evening or weekend work hours may be occasionally required.
