Job Description
We are looking for an exceptional sales professional to join our Hampton Inn & Suites Lafayette!
As a key member of the property leadership team, the sales manager has influence and accountability for the revenue generation of the property. Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales and the General Manager, the Director of Sales will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of ethical leadership to lead the property to achieve its business goals.
Core Job Requirements
- Responsible for the overall sales and revenue generation of the property
- Executes the training of all associates as it relates to the sales process to maximize revenues
- Be responsible for maintaining compliance and up to date on new sales initiatives for the brand and company
- Be actively involved in the STAR report
- Maintain positive relationships with Management company, property owners and clients
- Support guest experience and satisfaction in all operations
- Act as the face of the property by being actively involved in the local community
- Ability to implement and maintain all sales documentation and sales procedures through training, coaching & counseling, and progressive discipline when necessary
- Ability to make revenue management decisions to effectively grow market share
Profit Management
You will be responsible for the locating and attracting potential business for the hotel.
- Knows key accounts and actively sells through personal visits and regular contact with these accounts and their decision-makers.
- Understands the local hotel market - strengths and weaknesses of the competition. Uses this knowledge when presenting information to decision-makers.
- Familiar with the successful practices of competitors and recommends strategies or sales tactics designed to grow revenue and manage expenses.
- Identifies and actively solicits new accounts for the hotel. Ensures effective and on-going Hit List pursuit strategies are in place.
- Documents all sales calls and other sales activities using sales data base system. This includes Market Planner, Market Segment Activity planner, Weekly Sales report, Web-sites etc.
- Markets opportunities on property’s web site and on electronic distribution channels, including GDS and internet travel sites.
- Actively leads all hotel sales and marketing activities.
- Ensures that all sales information is communicated to all departments.
- Responsible for the development and control of the Sales team budget and operating costs.
- Demonstrates working knowledge in the use of Revenue Maximization programs. Assists the General Manager with establishing and carrying out revenue maximization strategies.
- Accurately forecasts occupancy changes based on changing market conditions (e.g., increased competition).

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
