The Account Manager – Deltar Fasteners will report to the Sales Manager – Deltar Fasteners and will be accountable for providing sales and account management to the major OEM customers. This person is in control of increasing existing accounts, growing segments, developing new accounts, and enhancing customer relationships. This person will initiate and follow up on new product development opportunities and growth opportunities to assist the division.
- Along with the Sales Manager and Product Manager, establishes the goals for customer penetration to ensure growth with core type products on selected Focused Platform launches.
- Works closely with the Sales Managers to ensure that sales strategies and customer targets are achieved.
- Leverage local market knowledge to focus on growing products and introduce new ones applying an “outside - in” ITW discipline.
- Fosters customer relationships that provide insight and a landscape where ITW has an advantage through our “cradle to grave” relationships.
- Ownership of comprehensive market research aligned with the strategic growth priorities, to recognize the market niche and growth opportunities within the ITW products.
- Maintains a continuing evaluation of Product reports for each of the Products that the Product Manager will own.
- Apply ITW innovation strategies utilizing the ITW Toolbox.
- Enhances the ITW Leadership Development framework, developing talent within the business.
- Demonstrates personal effectiveness and leadership that creates a culture of high performance.
- Cultivates an environment consistent with the ITW values and culture.
- Takes ownership on Products on future Focused Platforms within the Long Range Planning periods.
- Works with developing Adjacent Products and pricing (with Operations) that have been successfully launched in other regions (and are considered core in that region) for opportunities in North America.
- Develops and maintains benchmarking tools for vehicle areas and associated products.

- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree - B.A. /B.S. from four-year College or University in Engineering or equivalent experience; Master’s Degree a plus
- Minimum 5-7 years of sales experience in the automotive industry preferred, proven track record of product knowledge including plastic fasteners.
- Requires good overall knowledge of all areas of the vehicle – interior/exterior, routing fluid, body/chassis, electrical, powertrain.
- Ability to develop budgets and Product forecast to a business plan with the Long Range Plan and Annual Plan measurables
- Proven ability to deal with changes in the business or its environment.
- An inner drive to comprehend, communicate and exceed established goals.
- Excellent relationship building, communication, and presentation skills with ability and willingness to work with other regions and locations.
- Proven ability to generate respect and confidence from staff and external customers/contacts, including the ability to work cohesively with colleagues and staff to create a result and team oriented environment.
- Proven ability to focus and prioritize tasks and goals
- Excellent personal computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- On-site position with primary activity in the Detroit Metro Area.
- Open to travel; primarily domestic and occasionally world-wide.
- Willingness to relocate for future growth and/or advancement opportunities.
