Job Title: Security Engineer

Position Overview:

Engineered Controls (ECI) is currently seeking a Security Sales Engineer for its Lincoln, NE office. This person is responsible for cost-effective estimating of commercial security systems as they relate to new construction and owner-direct sales opportunities in general. As part of the sales team, the Security Sales Engineer will review project plans, specifications, and other related documents, then create professional quotes and proposals for customers and contractors.

The successful candidate will also work with Engineered Controls accounts to assist customers in the utilization of security products and services. The Security Sales Engineer must be able to articulate building security technology to operational and economic customers in non-technical terms. This person must also be able to establish and maintain long-term customer relationships throughout the sales cycle.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Learn the technical details of Engineered Controls security hardware and software and sell customer solutions for its new and existing clients.
  • Create new sales and marketing strategies that target customers and positions ECI’s products as the best solutions for prospective clients.
  • Manage customer relations by periodic customer sales calls and face-to-face meetings.
  • Identify areas where ECI can improve customer business (security and safety), then communicate and sell those solutions to clients.
  • Gathering and validating preliminary information and performing facility walk-throughs / construction plan reviews.
  • Developing, evaluating and discussing possible solutions with customers then determining proposal price and selling strategy.
  • Create sales proposals and follow up with the customer after initial meetings to close business opportunities.
  • Set weekly and monthly sales activity goals and quotas.
  • Able to travel throughout the Nebraska sales territory.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in operations and sales, with in-depth knowledge of cutting-edge building security systems.
  • Must be personable and comfortable working in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with an expanding customer base.
  • Must possess strong time-management skills and be able to communicate professionally in oral and written responses to customer sales proposals.
  • A high school diploma or other technical military training is required. A four-year degree in a related technical field is preferred.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of Electrical and IT systems.
  • Must have knowledge of reading blueprints, technical papers and control drawings.
  • Must be a team player willing to assist others as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Must be well groomed and have a neat appearance.
  • Must be able to spend significant time standing and walking on construction sites.
  • Must be able to climb several flights of stair or ladders throughout a typical day on a construction site.
  • Maintain a satisfactory driving record per Engineered Controls vehicle policy.
  • Actively participate in the company wide Health and Safety plan.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
