With this continued growth, Fire Equipment Inc. is currently seeking a Fire Alarm Project Sales Rep/Engineer to join our growing team covering Southeastern MA & the Cape, and Rhode Island. In this role, you will work in your assigned territory to identify opportunities for fire alarm projects including system upgrades, repairs, installations, replacements and retrofit projects with our existing customer base and/or new customers. You will meet with customers to determine expectations, survey facilities, develop & engineer solutions, and estimate costs associated with the solutions provided.
Responsibilities
· Meets annual and monthly booking quotas for fire alarm project sales
· Identifies opportunities in assigned territory
· Conducts follow-up on identified opportunities
· Understands how fire alarm systems work and maintains a knowledge of current NFPA codes to make appropriate recommendations to customers
· Presents professional proposals to customers on repair, replacement, upgrade, retrofit and installations projects with the goal of closing a sale
· Acts as a team player and assists others in the Company in obtaining or retaining business when needed
· Builds and maintains positive relationships with fellow employees, prospects, customers and vendors
· Prepares and submits reports to management that detail the selling/booking activity for the week, month, and year-to-date
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
· Minimum of 4 years experience in sales in the fire safety industry
· Advanced knowledge of fire alarm systems
· Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
· Ability to successfully negotiate with a diverse customer base
· High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university preferred.
· Certificates, licenses and registrations required: Fire Alarm license and NICET certification preferred.
· Computer skills required: Intermediate computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Familiarity with Salesforce.com a plus
