TLC - The Treatment and Learning Centers in Rockville, MD has an exciting opportunity for a full-time experienced Development Director. The mission of TLC is to improve lives and expand possibilities for individuals with disabilities.

The TLC Development Director is responsible for planning and implementing a strategic fundraising plan to meet the organization’s short- and long-term goals. The Director oversees all aspects of fundraising activities and builds and maintains donor relationships. The Director acts as the staff liaison to the Development Team of the Board of Trustees and is a member of the TLC Leadership Team reporting to the Executive Director.
Experience and Skills:

Job Requirements of the Development Director:

• Responsible for major gifts, grants, annual appeals and special events
• Significant major gifts experience required, with a preference for candidates with planned giving experience
• Manage portfolio of donors
• Provide leadership to the development team
• Prepare and present regular reports on progress toward fundraising goals
• Generate donor communications, newsletters and annual report
• Manage the department’s budget and fundraising income programs

Experience and Education Requirements of the Development Director:

• Proven track record of meeting fundraising goals and securing major gifts
• Experience with managing and tracking donor contributions and organizing data for reporting
• Excellent technical skills including donor software, Microsoft Office, database and spreadsheet proficiency
• Experience with prospect research tools and donor database software to build donor relationships
• Applied understanding of basic fundraising principles and development best practices.
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Minimum of 6 years of experience
