Outside Sales position- NYC - Commercial
Base salary+ Commission
$500 car allowance and E-Zpass
The Sales Representative is mainly responsible for maintaining and generating revenue for Interstate Waste. Services of New York City and surrounding areas. This is achieved by retaining current customers with mutually beneficial relationships and by consistently expanding that loyal customer base. This position will report to the NY Regional Sales Manager based out of our Bronx Office.

The position is based out of our New York City sales office and reports to the New York City Sales Manager, and offers a company issued cell phone, laptop and iPad, a $500 car allowance and E-ZPass account.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage existing business relationships in order to achieve sales goals by developing and implementing sound retention strategies, utilizing strong negotiation efforts to preserve business, and secure contract agreements
- Responsible to save and secure all customer cancellation requests by providing ongoing education of contract details to customers
- Reduce lost accounts by diffusing cancellation requests
- Increase revenue and profitability by executing efficient plans on retention calls to improve the customer’s service and/or profitability
- Actively track accounts that have moved or closed to include follow-ups in order to retain service
- Prepare sales proposals and make recommendations on equipment as seen fit
- Update and secure customer service agreements and ensure that customers have current signed written agreements on file
- Respond to all increases and decreases in service, change of ownership and other miscellaneous service changes that affect revenue
- Perform outbound customer relationship calls to existing customers to improve customer profitability through a perpetual pricing program as required
- Perform outbound collection calls as required
- Effectively negotiate with all customers to retain relationships and associated revenue during pricing initiatives
Work Environment
- The Sales Representative will be based in our Bronx, NY location, however a majority of the job duties require traveling throughout the five boroughs.
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
- High school/GED education completed, higher education is a plus.
- Minimum one year outside sales experience.
- Must have geographic knowledge of the five boroughs.
- Must have advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Fluency in English required, Spanish is a plus.
- Must work well in team environment as well as use independent discretion when carrying out sales agreements and relationships
- Must be comfortable driving in throughout the day
- Driver’s license is required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $247,000.00 per year
