What is the role we are searching for?
Automotive Sales Manager-Glenn Mills, PA
This person will assist the General Sales Manager in hands-on planning, training and managing of his/her Sales Department Team in alignment with company culture which sets CarShop apart from others in the industry. In this role the Sales Manager is a critical team member in the day to day maintenance and advancement of our company values and culture. Ensures the Sales Consultants adopt and represent the CarShop core values as we serve our customers. The Sales Manager will seek to keep the energy level high in the showroom through encouragement and assistance to the sales consultants while achieving the goals of the strategic plan. At times you will assume the responsibilities of the General Sales Manager when he/she is called away to other duties.
What will you do?
- Monitor on a daily basis and develop sales activities on the sales floor with emphasis on customer follow up before and after the sale, staffing the front sales desk and remaining vigilant for unattended customers on the sales lot and in the showroom. Implement established company procedures and policies for the sales department and suggest improvements.
- Ensure timely response to and follow up on customer inquiries and concerns. Achieve Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and sales goals for his/her team. Maintain records and reports for self and company reports
- Assist the finance team by assuming the responsibility of finance manager in times of their absence
- Train/mentor sales consultants to increase their skills and abilities to serve customers and close the sale.
- Handling the majority of the customer complaints which are "little" problems and refer only "big" problems to the General Sales Manager. Be available to assist the General Sales Manager in all areas, on an as needed basis
- Establish performance and development objectives for direct reports.
- Conduct a weekly "sales meeting" to recognize the successes of various sales consultants. Highlight a customer experience which models success and our culture and encourages the team. Encourage the sharing of new insights about how to handle challenging situations.
What skills do you bring?
- Previous experience in the automotive/retail industry in managing teams and developing talent
- Finance knowledge- ability to read credit bureaus, submit finance applications, and print paperwork at time of delivery a plus"
