Position: Purchasing Associate/Inside Sales Support

Summary: The Purchasing Associate/Inside Sales Support is responsible for assisting the sales team and estimators to facilitate orders and quotations. This position will also purchase materials and supplies at the direction of management to meet the production and quality needs of the organization. This role also follows up with clients as needed, tracks open quotations, processes purchase orders when received, enters order acknowledgements, tracks job progress and more, all while communicating with necessary parties.

Primary Roles: Materials Purchasing, Order/PO Entry, Job and PO Tracking, and Order Acknowledgements

Reports To: VP, Reactor & General Fabrication Division

Supervises: None

Travel:  None

Typical Week:  40-50 hours

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Process inbound customer inquiries and distribute to appropriate estimator
• Execute order entry and follow all necessary procedures
• Assist estimator in quote and project management
• Purchase materials and supplies in a manner that demonstrates responsible stewardship of company resources
• Expediting and tracking of all purchases handled
• Foster business relationships with clients through effective communication and timely responses
• Follow-up with customers to inquire about open quotes or issues as needed
• Set up new customers and new vendors
• Maintain raw material inventory pricing in E2
• Provide excellent customer service and professional communications within brand standards
• Provide input and feedback to leadership team to communicate customer needs, pain points, and quote feedback to help effect changes to better compete in the market
• Support internal employees with various tasks, as needed
• Understand and value other parts of the company, their roles, and work with each department effectively
• Execute any and all tasks assigned by supervisor
• Observe safety procedures at all times
• Uphold leadership values of integrity, excellence, innovation and collaboration; displaying respect and a positive attitude in all interactions with the team and customers

Qualifications:

• College education preferred
• Sourcing and logistics experience preferred
• Proficient in general computer knowledge, Microsoft Office Suite of products and other job-related software, such as E2 Software is preferred.
• Carbon and Alloy flat-rolled steel experience desired.
• 1-3 years industry experience preferred.
• General understanding of metal processes and products
• Desire to learn about metals, its products, and the industry Woven Metal Products supports.
• Excellent and professional communication skills
• Self-motivated, ability to focus in a busy office and to work under general supervision
• High attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of materials, metallurgy, basic welding, punching, cutting and forming a plus
• Skilled in math, drawing interpretation, material take offs skills and estimating preferred
• Ability to be a team player and work with other staff members

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Education:

• Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

• Sales: 3 years (Preferred)
• metallurgy, basic welding, punching, cutting and forming: 1 year (Required)
